How strict are most of the clubs on IDs?
I'm legal, but I have a fairly mature-looking friend who is underage. Are bouncers easily bribe-able, like slipping a 20 underneath the ID (or whatever euro equivalent is, lol). Or do they just hardly check IDs at all assuming you don't look like you're twelve years old.
Friend is female, if that sheds any light/help on the situation. I'm male. |

whats wrong with august? I went last year end of august, thought it was ok. Prices for hotels are a bit higher though. |
i was there from august 9th till the 19th and although i had an amazing time it was insanely packed everywhere we went and the italians were unbearable. the rudest, most inappropriate behaving men ever!!!!!! very disrespectful towards women. and you don't have a choice but to be smashed up against them because the clubs are so packed.
the brits i met were way cool and so were the germans. sorry, i know greg feels hurt every time i bring up the horrible italians but at that time, on the island they are really bad. i got grabbed more than i care to discuss and i'm sure if i spoke italian i would have heard rude comments too.
but like i said, i had a blast, how could i not. just way packed and yes very expensive. next time i go, i'm going for the closing parties :) |

Not hurt, just disappointed in my brethren. Bastards are supposed to be romantic, not rude :whip: |

| The Italians, happy go lucky as they are, do seem to come from a culture where groping, touching, and being otherwise spastic are the norm. |

| When my wife and I were there, it seemed it was mostly the younger italian kids that had the offensive behavior and they seemed to be in greater numbers on the weekend - Friday, saturday. Both times we've been has been in September. |

That's probably why there's not a whole lot going on Friday/Saturday nights! must be amateur hour.
Mykonos was the same thing. So was WMC this year. There must have been a special on flights from Italy to Miami LOL.
But without them, I don't think there would have been any toplessness, lolz. |

Try to have her borrow someone else id...I see you live in Florida, so an Alverado St. id probably isn't something you can get. (make sure not to get the California one as it is horrible!)
Most places will take an id (if you are not using a US Passport). I used my Cal id anytime they asked for id when using a credit card shopping. (and it seemed like they would always ask)
Are there still Federalies (or Civil Guard), the green cars outside some of the clubs randomly searching people? They usually don't bother Americans, they are looking for their own kind, and believe me, they know we are American by the way we dress and hold ourselves up. |

i hear ya. i had the same experience with the italians. did meet a few that were pretty decent though. one time at oktoberfest, i left my group to go to the bathroom, i was literally pushed up against a wall by a group of italians who wer grabbing and groaping and would not let me free. it's pretty ridiculous. i'm kinda used to europeans since i live in europe and work for an international org. it's a little different over here re: the way women are treated.
as far as where to stay... i stayed in den bossa last year and it was pretty decent. beach is not so clean around the areas where jet is but further down closer to the airport where i stayed the beach was really nice. the hotel i stayed in was pretty decent. (hotel club bahamas) def a short walk to space. the only problem is that it was Jam packed with kids. i had not idea there so many families in ibiza.
i'm staying in santa eulalia this year. is that a really painful cab ride? the coo part about den bossa is that amnesia had this free bus that took everyone home at the end of the night. it went to san antonio or den bossa. awesome! i don't know if any of the other clubs did that. |

Cab ride costs about 30 Euros. I eventually rented a scooter (lol!), and then traded the scooter for a car. (first time learning manual ;)
Santa Eulalia has very clean beaches, family orientated, a 5 star hotel or two and a decent size local community. (all types of food, markets, mobile phone stores, cleaners etc.)
Look into the party bus (Disco Bus) that takes you for 1 euro.

Probably getting off-topic here...but this is why American boys come off as such sweethearts to foreign gals ;) - ok I am biased here hehe.
Back to places to stay...I booked the Garbi...I hope the beach is good there, but honestly we're probably renting a car for part of the time we're there to go exploring. Since my wife has never been to Ibiza, I wanted her to be in action. I even offered to stay at a farmhouse somewhere near S.E. but she wanted to be closer to the beach. Anyways, going to Amnesia twice so I'll have to check out that bus. Could be convenient for when my wife predictably crashes way before me! |

some of my friends were riding in a taxi and got pulled over at a stop when we were there in 2007. they had some **stuff** with them - luckily they hid it in the taxi's back seats and when they got out and were searched there was nothing to be found. and these guys def look like gringos lol. |
