I'll be in Brazil for the World Cup in 2014, the whole thing. I win :) |

Nice. That sounds like a good time for a visit to Brazil.
June should be a fun month in Ibiza this year. Most of the Island is going to be focused on football, and given that most visitors are European, I'm venturing to guess that clubbing is going to take a back seat to hitting the pubs and cafes after a day in the sun.
I don't plan on doing much clubbing this year, just relaxing and enjoying the footy, maybe with the odd Cocoon or WLS thrown in. |

As per my signature, I'll be there for 3 nights (July 4 - July 7).
I booked Bali Beach: they finally got rid of that 4-night minimum crap. |

| I've given up on trying to plan a clubbing schedule, as I usually get there, spontaneously meet people and end up elsewhere. This year, the plan is to do the "One, One, One" plan every day. One Party, One Beach, One Restaurant. There are so many interesting beaches and restaurants that most tourists don't typically go to, and quite a few parties that are out of the main tourist areas. I'll definitely be at Cocoon on the 21st for Hawtin and Magda. |

The Island is pretty quiet right now - even for June which is traditionally quite calm compared to July and August. Part of it is the World Cup, as well as the residual impact of the crisis. Playa d'en Bossa is fairly sedate, whereas San An is quite peppy due to the usual high numbers of chavs an pissed up blue collar brits there on budget holidays.
Cocoon is very good this year. I've observed a noticeable spike in the quality of the music. Sven was fantastic last week, and Villalobos and Marco Carolla surprisingly outperformed Magda and Hawtin this week.
I spoke to Chris Liebing at Coccon and he was very high on his CLR party on Tuesdays at Space (Drumcell there this past week). I presume that will continue until Carl Cox rolls into town in the first week of July at which point PDB will officially blow up into full on summer party mode.
There's a new party on Wednesdays at Space called Kehakuma. I went once expecting some Techno and was mortified to hear a variety of deep house that I thought might've gone extinct in the late 90s.
Christian Varela is also doing a party on Saturday Nights at Space called Christian Varela and Friends (which include the likes of Marco Bailey).
Meganite at Privilege is no more. Apparently Mauro and the club parted ways after seven seasons.
The weather is getting warmer and should be quite hot if any one is planning on coming out in July or August. IMO, the best time to come is the first or second week in July, as its right around the time Carl Cox starts his party at Space, the weather gets nice and toasty, and the prices are still relatively affordable compared to when they peak in August.
Circo Loco at DC10 is back in business although there seems to be a peculiar lack of buzz about it this year. Apparently the opening party only had 200 people show up, which is quite shocking given that people were thirsting for Circo when it was shut down for much of last year.
For me - Cocoon is still the best party on the Island by a country mile. Best crowd, best music, minimal muppets. Everything a good club night should be.
Enjoy. |

How are the prices this year?
A lot of people I know are thinking about 2011 since the euro is forecasted to go to even parity with the dollar. Of course there is never a better time than the present, I just can't go this year. |

| Well quite annoyingly, there are quite a few Americans here this summer, presumably because the Euro is week this year. Prices are quite affordable for a a June trip since the season isn't in full swing yet and rents are still relatively low. Also inexplicably, a lot of French, which is not normally the case. |

sorry about all the Americans, they're not as cool as any of us.
The French already through in the towel long ago in the world cup, so they've probably decided to start their vacations early :) |
