i would say if it says thunderstorms then it will be just that. but the rain does tend to last there a bit longer than the afternoon showers you see in more tropic environments.
Also, I would HIGHLY suggest you guys go to Ushuaia beach club on Wed afternoon/evening to see Luciano... |

Working on that now... Time has been scarce since I had Nocturnal and now love coming up!! Haven't stopped going since I have been back:crazy:
What I can say is that Ibiza is AMAZING!!! Going for 2 weeks was perfect!!! For those who have been to WMC and get the WMC blues. The Ibiza blues are 10x's worse. I can not stop thinking about the island and what we saw and what we did there.
The best club for me was Amnesia. The best night was Markus hands down!! I have friends who are not really into his style listen to it this weekend and they Loved it!!!
Armin was amazing as well!
Sander Van Doorn also tore it up Cream Night: he just got on and let us have it no warm up just BOOM! Ferry was amazing too.
Pacha is the sexiest club I ever been too. You walk in and feel sexy. For those who go HAVE TO HAVE TO see Erick M. There. He is that club. He played a really really sexy set that had house and trance elements.
:eyespop:
Privilege is too big. The staff there major s, if you think Space Miami is bad go to Privilege.. the sound was crappy. The opening dj was boring and Tiesto's set was really disappointing!
Eden: Meh was not really feeling it.. though the bar next door had the best pre-load prices! 2 drinks with an extra shot for 10!
Total Cost of the Trip for Greg and I was just little over $6000. For 2 people for 2 weeks is not that bad. |

Glad you both had an amazing time. Sadly, those blues don't go away - you just learn to suppress them.....
...until you go again:D
That place is just magical. It's such a cliche, but there's something about the island, a sort of feeling in air or a exitement mixed with melancholy the morning after.
Didn't do space then? Was cox already over?
It's so strange for me to hear that about Pacha though - it is probaly the most cobbled together, pretenious, slimey venue I've had the misfortune of getting in free to. Door staff virtually overdosing both on their own importance and cocaine simulataneously, the club feels like three 70's clubs badly glued together with a few extnesions thrown in, and the dancefloor is covered with tables that slimey twats pay 1500 euros a night for. Oh, and morillo didn't even bother to show up until the last hour (which I didn't stay for).
[/rant]
BTW, did you manage to go to that bar/cafe I told you about? |

I will second that!
Amnesia is the best club in the world perios. Best sound, best vibe.
The best night for me was also Markus' solo set. Cream was ok, but the crowd/music was better at Armada night. Tiesto @ Privelege was not that great in my opinion. Didn't help that roof was leaking during the storm. Renting a car for a couple days we explored the whole west and northwest of the island. It had been raining part of the time, but was still awesome. We also took a boat trip to Formentera and rented a scooter, they're not joking, the water is awesome and does rival anything I have seen in the carribean.
The biggest seal of approval was from my wife. She's not the clubber from the two of us and was kind of skeptical of a place famous for clubs. But once you get away from the PDB strip, and the tourist stuff in Ibiza town, it's a whole different ballgame. She actually liked Formentera better (hard to argue with that one based on the beaches) but in general felt the two places were the best (in terms of beauty) that she had seen in Ibiza (and that's on top of going to Santorini/Mykonos last year). She had the best time at Armada night as well.
Other highlights:
Authentic Iberican dinner at a locals place in Ibiza town.
Seafood paella overlooking Cala D'Hort.
Arabic tapas in San Jose
sunset at Mambo's (of course). but man, that area is getting commercialized.
We will be headed back, but instead will stay in the center of the island on a finca, if possible, with a rented car the whole time,
explore more ofthe north/east beaches, and spend more time in Formentera!
Our pics and videos are up on the web in case anyone is interested. |

| I will at an addendum. They were handing out bracelets for Space every single night except for Sunday and Cox. But we never could be arsed to make it over there. We were going to go to Pacha for my wife to check it out, but again, just ran out of time. |

not really. $430 per day is a lot of money and more than most people spend on holiday. but damn it's worth it.... |

Carl Cox was on the same night as the Armada closing party with 7 hour set by Markus. No way in hell we would miss that for Cox, who neither one of us is a fan of anyways. I have heard his Ibiza sets and meh.
We wanted to hit Pacha one night so I asked Michelle what our options were and it was Sander K or Morrilo. Since I have never liked Sander, the decision was easy. Both had an amazing night. Loved Pacha and Morrilo. Staff seemed super cool to us.
Privilege on the other hand was a hole with the worse staff I have ever seen at a club. On top of that, Tiesto was awful. I advise anyone to stay away unless there is a DJ you absolutely have to see.
We did go to Space on an off night for us, they were handing out free entry bracelets. Looked cool but the main room was closed. They were playing minimal and there was like 200 people tops. Stayed for about an hour a bailed.
We went out to the big clubs 6 times not counting Space. Armin , Morrilo, Jules, Tiesto, Markus & Ferry. Amnesia was easily my favorite club there. |

TBH, cox in the back room is not my cup of tea - the terrace howver is a different story and completely amazing.
I know you two wouldn't miss markus on a normal night let alone a 7 hour set.
Got to say though, Cox at Vanguard a month ago was one of the best nights of my life and I been doin' this a while) and nearly everone I've spoken to said the same. He was just awesome in the true sense of the word.
And yes, I'd pick morillo over sander as you can see sander often in LA and I can't remember Erics last gig in LA.
Apart from pre 1999, I've always thought Tiesto played crap but was it really that bad? Few other people hinted the same thing. Was that the night he played addagio (again) and the track ed up and everyone laughed or booed him (there's a video floating about somewhere). |

arrived on a Tuesday went to Amnesia for a bit of Markus/Roger. Rogers side was bangin' it! IMO better than Markus. we left for Space to see CC. OMG!! kick a$$!!!
Wed, we were hanging at a local club with a waitress from Mambo. we would give her money to buy 2 Euro shots instead of us buying 10 Euro shots. ;) met some people and got f*ckin' drunk and walked/tripped/skipped back to our room.
Thur we went to Cream but liked the back room better AGAIN than the main room. That room is SICK! LAAAAAAAAAAAZERS!!!! CRAZY LAZERS!! left early but hung out with Aj and took those silly pics. haha ;)
Friday we went to km5, a restaurant on a "back" road, where we had an awesome anniversary dinner. afterwards, we went back to San An to get our drink on and hung with the same people from Wed at the same place. FUN FUN FUN!
Sat was a chill night. Aj cooked and had a fabulous dinner with friends.
Sun we were awake during the cloudy/rainy/thunder-y day and spent it with a friend walking or sitting at our hotel lobby drinking. Judgement Sundays later that night for Aj.
Mon was a hard choice of what to do. go to Tiesto or Ritchie? went to neither and went to Mambo, went with the waitress again to the local club and had the most fun time ever!
Tue we relaxed, went to the airport to see friends off, went to Mambo for our last pitcher of Sangria, went back to the room, packed and kinda slept.
Wed morning we left the island.
thats the short version. |

I'm trying to break down what I spent, it's not the easiest.
I spent 3 nights in Barcelona, 8 nights in Ibiza, 4 nights in Mykonos and 1 night in Athens.
Excluding Ibiza, the rest of the nights I was alone.
Barcelona was 2 free nights & one cash&points night ($90+tax)
Ibiza I split with 1 friend, so it was $1,266.36 for each of us in Playa d'en Bossa.
Mykonos was $759.31 for the room.
Athens was one cash&points night ($90+tax).
On everything else, I spent about $2,750 for the 18 days.
My flight was in points, so about $150 in taxes.
But, it's a vacation for me, not a time to skimp and save and work. I do that the rest of the year instead. |
