Up to $100-125 for a couple for a decent place, decent location, comfortable. Can be a cute-ish/stylish pension. Might be hard for that amount,
Found the ME Barcelona for 100 euros...but still a bit much (
I have to stay 5 nights)...and not near the center at all... |

the Me Barceone is a pretty cool hotel from what i've heard. if its only like $25 more a night compared to the others i'd try and swing it...
i just checked and saw a BW and it was around 85 euros...decent place - more central |

I'll see if it is stil available...prob. not.
You dont think the location wouldn't be a pain? Heard it is in a total residential neighborhood and you have to take the subway everywhere |

It actually went DOWN:
92.53 E/nt including breakfast.
What do you think about the Other Melia Barcelona hotel? better location? Seems the ME is a bit nicer rooms though...I will check the BW too... |

well i'm used to taking taxis/subways everywhere anyway when i go to major cities outside the US so that's not big deal.
i agree the Me is a bit out of a comfortable walking distance to the main tourist stuff... personally i like staying at nice hotels - i'll pay the extra $ to stay in a nice/cool hotel or location....but many people could care less or can't do that.
if you want to stay central, look for a hotel around 'las ramblas'...then you can walk many places |

| Stay away from las ramblas at all costs. It is nothing special but a tourist trap with a bunch of thieves. If you get a chance for to Madrid instead I liked it much better I have been to both 2 times. |

Madrid is awesome I stayed here the hotel was real good and close to everything

Yep. And there is a known issue where cash & points may be available for the hotel, but doesn't show up on spg.com. You have to call and ask.

called spg - no cash and points for BCN Meridian.
It's available for the Westin in Madrid though - $90 + 4800 pts/day. seems to be a decent location.
The ME Barcelona deal is gone - missed that one. |
