Honestly, I think everyone should just ditch this thread. If you are deriving some sort of entertainment value from it, on the other hand (which I would totally understand), then by all means do carry on.

And again to the OP. is that really the comment you've got to make towards me? I said you're mostly full of because you're not a complete dumbass mother f*cker but partially so. I mean do you even know what you're talking about at this point? Or are you just going on about this because it's fun to you? I mean I followed most of this thread, and my impressions of you were that your statements are very empty. You come here and challenge us but have little to nothing backing you up. It's you're opinion and I don't see why it's worth getting so frustrated about.

Or how bout this, off, get into golf or stamp collecting, and leave this to the professionals.

Hi tech does not mean better.

Is the scene better now? What scene?
Are record sales and profits for the labels and artists better now?
What f*****n record sales? There are no f******n record stores left going! These days there more motherf****rs making the music than theres motherf*****s buying it.
Seen this ? Everywere you turn download my remix! Buy my album! Add me on my space!

No I won't! Now off.

Are the clubs and events better now playing gonowhere fall asleep minimal from former progressive house producers for empty rooms?
Apparently this is open to interpretation but for those who were not hit in the head when we were little by a giant watermellon the answer is no.
Is the music better now?
I will let the forum members answer that.

What is better now with technology? Software and djgear company profits. That's all the that has improved.

I bet you sort of auto-piloted over that phrase without noticing it that it doesn't even make any ing sense ;)

Snappy. This board is just full of phrases like this I just want to print out and hang on my wall:

Here is one from ''the professional''

Good Lord, you still don't get it. You know what? I'll let you figure it out in time. I think it's great that you have your own opinion, but just understand that your own laziness is what is at fault here. Grow up, get out there, explore. Until then, you're nothing but the primary cause of your own problem.

I'm done here.

Well, even though he thinks I'm a tool and changed my post to prove so, at least he has no doubts about my intelligence. It just goes to show you how subjective out tastes are: I think minimal is a bunch of drum loops, but I can't deny that the genre still has a lot of hardcore followers, and this guy thinks I'm a big tool but he can't deny that I am s m a r t That is smart with a s p a c e b e t w e e n e v e r y l e t t e r . Why t h e s p a c e? if know. That is probably some secret minimal code. Thanks for being rational, Light The Fuse. While ''Light The Fuse'' starts with an insult he unlike idoru ended with a compliment and a wish. ;)

The last thing I'm going to say here (I know I haven't said much) is that everything has a purpose. "Minimal" obviously found its own and that's why it's still around. Deal with it.

I love threads in which the kunt OP thinks he's got everything right when 10 others posters tell him otherwise.

this is a misinformed incorrect statement. after running through the pages, the tally is this:

Agrees with OP:
stevesto
sykonee
mark anthony
noisician
palm
boris_the_bear
nostalgic
movingincircles
Neo95gt
darin epsilon
msz
djkopernikus

12

Disagrees with OP:
ponsshin
schrödingerwin
nefardec
clovis
idoru
julien2

6

People who are 50/50 (hard to tell from their posts in this thread if they agree or disagree:

mrjivebojingles
adam420

(Theres also people who are flaming him but because they disagree with other things brought up such as jupiterone. i didnt list them because they did not show any indication if they agree or disagree with original topic)

So, no, its not 10 others telling him otherwise (man this is why *I* love TA, so much exaggeration spewed by people that ban together in gangs to make something seem like fact). Out of the 6 people that disagree, only 4 are actively participating in the thread to voice their opinion against the OP's opinion. And now the disagreers are trying to make it look like the thread is out of hand and will convince a mod to close it simply because they are biased (THATS what really suks about this place, the bitching i dont mind).

I don't think what the OP is doing is wrong. He is just asking who else agrees with his opinion and talk about factors that have contributed (such as the shift from vinyl to digital, he's not bitching about it he's citing it as a contributing factor. instead people like to say things like "aww man now you're changing the subject from minimal to vinyl vs digital"). and then you got the tech house lovers keep saying over and over "stop bitching, do something about it".

So no, there's nothing wrong with this thread. its good to talk about the current state of things, current trends in clubland, how internet and the digital age has caused djs to be more trendy than before (or easier to be so). You might see it as pointless ranting or bitching, but good things happen from it. For example the OP in the process was able to get exposed to some better music:

Hi quality music all around.
Can anybody recomend some of the newer stuff???

And another thing, some of the people that disagree with him do actually agree with him on some points, for example:

Now everything is cheaper or free: everybody can be an artist, make music, make movies, set up a label. There are some wonderful talents out there who made good use of that price decrease but you have to dig through a lot of e in order to find what you want.

Also, the people who are most vocal against the OP are obviously biased:

idorus promo mix:
01. Ragga Fonda - Libell [Mosaiko]
02. Samuel L. Session - Choose One [Be As One]
03. Dewalta - Farina [Vakant]
04. Ben Klock - Grasp [Klockworks]
05. Oxia & Eric Borgo - Another Man (Daniel Stefanik Mix) [Tsuba]
06. Carsten Jost & Carsten Klemann - CC01 (Detroit) [Dial Records]
07. Henrik Schwarz, Âme & Dixon - Where We At? (Version 3) [Innervisions]
08. Willie Graff & Tucillo - Bang [Drumpoet Community]
09. Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts - Strange Place of Mind [Raum...Musik]
10. Tonny Lasar - Toshiban (Kreon & Lemos Remix) [Perplex]
11. Martinez - Momomowha [Moon Harbour]
12. Audion - Mund zu Mund [Spectral Sound]

clovis:
no need to list, come on we all know what clovis spins

nefardec 3-19-09 mix:
1 Monolake - Amazon [Imbalance]
2 Blamstrain - Reimari [Thinner]
3 Paperclip People - Remake (Basic Reshape) [Basic Channel]
4 Marko FüRstenberg - 2006 [A.R.T.Less]
5 Killahertz - Der ZwöLfte [Statik Entertainment]
6 Pablo Bolivar - Next Player [Regular]
7 Ernie - Humanoide Oxidado [Deep Explorer]
8 Ernie - Jaramanal [Deep Explorer]
9 Losoul - Mandu [Playhouse]
10 Gabriel Ananda & Tobias Becker - Was Erwartet? [Platzhirsch Schallplatten]
11 Maetrik - Brown Tone [Treibstoff]
12 Theorem Vs. Black Jazz Consortium - Emerge (W/ Message) [Minus / Soul People Music]
13 Peter Rehberg - Black Holes [Emego]

ponsshin quoted a layo bushwacka set of music he thinks is awesome:
[00:00:00] ID
[00:04:45] Layo & Bushwacka! - Now is the Time
[00:06:49] Metro Area - Miura (Original Mix)
[00:11:27] Gorilaz - Dare (DFA Remix)
[00:17:50] Paul Ritch - Split
[00:23:32] Len Faki - Mekong Delta (Original Mix)
[00:29:20] Umek - 2nd to None (Original Mix)
[00:35:36] ID in' off da hook
[00:40:16] ID "it's nice to know that you were there"
[00:44:40] Luciano Esse & Toni D - Instabul (Format B Remix)
[00:46:40] Format B - Edding 850 (Original Mix)
(cut short, we get the idea)

All of the tracks listed have a lot of "minimal" or drum loopy tech house / deep house. Sure you can argue as a purist none of it is trully minimal (yea yea we get it, rob hood is minimal, old plastikman is minimal) but most people probably dont want to see that argument right now.

So yea, please keep this going, quality thread:

Nostalgic
You do know that minimal elitists like Clovis think their opinion about EDM is above us normal Plebians?

I still can't get over how Clovis comes in here and brags about how great his little minimal scene is. What a ing joke. :stongue:
enydo
I still can't believe you are this angry all the time about the progression of a musical scene.

Sorry it doesn't tend to stagnate for years and years like you seem to wish. Also minimal is not even really that popular anymore, you really don't know what you're talking about.
