I'm annoyed because it's dominating the house scene. Every Tom, Dick and Harry is playing this stuff. My favorite DJs have become an absolute bore to me because they've all decided to hop on the tech-house bandwagon. I'm sure you'll agree with me that Sasha and Digweed have been absolutely piss boring the past couple of years since they started playing it.
That only speaks of Sasha and Digweed and the countless Toms Dicks, and Harrys you mention, not the genre itself. If you actually bothered to check out the genre, you would find that there are many tech house artists and labels putting out stuff that is miles away from the "plink plonk" you love to criticize.
I used to be the biggest Desyn Masiello fanboy ever (I still like that kind of music, but not to that degree of fanboyism I used to have), and I hated it too when he stopped playing the funky house he's known for in favor of darker, techier stuff which I found dull, mechanical, and uninspired. But guess what? I'm not stuck in the past, and I didn't start 500 ing threads and troll countless others complaining about it. If anything, it made me want to look into other styles of music and what I've found has blown me away. If you're judging tech house from what Sasha and Digweed are playing, then you are getting screwed.
He "hates house", yet the only "house" he's heard is coming from David Guetta, Fedde LeGrand, and Benny Benassi. The only difference would be that you have been around dance music for waaaaaay longer and should know better by know, that to find good music you have to go way deeper than Beatport's top 10.

You really need to let this go, mate. You know I love the same music as you, but you have to accept that it's all a matter of taste, and what the you're achieving by trolling every discussion with "PLINK PLONK" I really don't know. You keep attacking Enydo, but he showed big love for my epic house sets, so where does that leave you?
I think you'd be much less pissed off with tech-house if you just ignored it and started searching for new music that fits your tastes.
I dunno about minimal but some house and funk and great drum loops are definitely more conducive to dancing imo than epic trance.
Unless this is your idea of dancing...
Interestingly enough I agree with Nostalgic that Sasha and Digweed play ing boring uninspiring music these days.

And less generic coldplay remixes :p
Couple of dudes took their shirts off at the resolute party this year and started dancing on top of a brick wall, it was retarded.
I hate people that want to be the center of attention at a party.

Exactly, I don't think the DJ should be the center of attention either.

True story: Clovis is playing tracks in Honey lounge, warming up with Lee Foss.
A guy comes up to me and says "who's playing here?"
-Clovis.
-He's just wearing a white shirt?
-The Music speaks for itself.

The rest of us mortal dance fans totally don’t get minimal because our simple taste for music is ‘’unrefined and underdeveloped’’ and their taste of music is of greater virtue than ours. And in this phony retarded sheep like way of thinking. lies the appeal of minimal.
See… minimal fans think that being a minimal fan lets them into some big secret that nobody else gets. They think that only a select few can decode this ‘’super intelligent’’ music but the fact of the matter is, any idiot can understand minimal because its hidden appeal lies in the fact that it gives the illusion of being electronic music for smart people. So as long as there’s something on the record to ‘’figure out’’ or ‘’interpret’’, it’s going to make some college kid feel smart. ;)
Faux intellectualism like this at the expense of real music cannot go unpunished.
lol. though i like minimal, i loved that post. too much hipster mentality as you said imo.

So I was reading the posts on a mastering forum the other day and there was a thread there called: ''What annoys you as a mastering engineer?''
So everybody was posting... no headroom, clipped tracks, clicks ect and one guy says ''electronica records with tiny kicks and percussion''
LOL.
He meant minimal. Poor guy.. he was probably thinking... What the hell is this ing and how in the world am I supposed to make it sound like anything decent? Do I tell this idiot that this garbage sucks ass and no mastering in the planet can make it sound like anything decent or do I run it throught the masalec and get the $60?
Hmm... I think I will get the 60''
Perhaps he wasn't aware that the trendy hipster minimal he was mastering is supposed to sound empty and dull like that otherwise the hipsters are not gonna download it on beatport.
