Repeatedly people who like the mainstream Trance are getting bashed on these forums. There is a concerted and deliberate campaign being waged to make people who enjoy mainstream feel as though their taste in music is somehow inferior to those who think its .
Here's a little example from torontotrance last night:

Trance is hurt under the weight of the evil 3some (Markus, Armin and A&B), who seem hell bent on pushing lame formulaic garbage on the masses, to sell more records with a loss in innovation. |

6 minutes. 3 threads. 3 posts denouncing mainstream trance.

Do we seriously need to put up with this constant assault on the MOST POPULAR form of trance on a website called tranceaddict? Ya we all know the best trance was made in 99 and its all been downhill from there...
If you believe that to be true, then what are you still doing on these forums? 5 years have gone by, if your tastes in music have MOVED then great, more power to you. BUT then maybe you should move to a different website too? One that better reflects your new musical pastures.
Maybe you guys could set up a new website called NonMainstreamEDMaddicts.com, and remember to send an e-mail to Armin that says "PLEASE Don't link us on your website, we don't want our boards polluted by your noob listeners who think Godzilla, Vadim Zhukov, Robert Nickson, Taucher, Max Graham, Airwave, Plastic Boy, Alucard, Haak, etc. are any good" (Names taken from the most recent episode of ASOT, a few of whom are regular posters on these forums)
If you hate trance so much, then give this website a break for a year... what do you have to lose? if you ever like trance again, and of course we hope you will, then we'll happily welcome you back into the fold ;) who knows, maybe in a year's time you'll be having so much fun at NonMainstreamEDMaddicts.com you'd never consider coming back. We'd be okay with that too :) |

| Fully agree that the general bashing by Elitists needs to stop. Its okay that someone else doesn't like the same music that you like. |

here is the fun of everything.
you have the freedom to make a post like this, so why should TTA have no freedom to say the opposite of what your saying?
makes no sense to me. |

my only qualm is with a term called "ASOT Cheese", people cant define it, there is no definition. Its not Armins own set, its the newest tunes in the trance scene. No matter the artist, Armin will play the record in his show if its big and popular enough. The bashers of ASOT may like PvD or Tiesto, but i guarentee that Armin will play the newest productions from these two. ASOT is simply a showcase for the Newest Trance, no matter the style. Hes played some crackers and some downright stinkers.
maybe people just dont like listening to a wide variety of tunes? |

| All i'm saying Massive84 is that people who don't like ASOT GDJB don't have to talk about it in threads or even deal with it. If you've got a problem with it don't come into threads about it. Is that really that hard to understand? |

it makes perfect sense, he's calling out the people that are bashing what this site is about. You dont go to a mustang forum, and talk trash on fords all day long, and expect to be there for long. But this member base is farr tooo big to keep an eye on the people that do the same here. |

1.) There's more to trance than what TTA hates. He may still like a ton of trance, thus is here.
2.) We're entitled to our own opinions. Some of us don't like ASOT or GDJB for various reasons.
3.) It's our opinion. It doesn't effect you.
4.) Is is it that ing hard to skip over the posts? |

| I think ASOT and GDJB are very different in their own ways, I certainly wouldn't call Markus 'mainstream' |

since when did armin play a wide variety of tunes though?
I think armin is e, and the style of music he plays is e. I can say this if i like, its no less valid an opinion than 'omfg armin is amazing'. Theres no reason whatsoever why people with a negative opinion on a subject cant voice it, whereas people with a positive opinion can. |

Personally, I would. There are a lot of prog bedroom DJs playing GDJB tunes like the trance bedroom DJs play ASOT. It's not that hard to find great tunes that aren't mainstream. |
