I'm not sure if that isn't a big risk...for mainly Timo. Has hasn't really been around except like once in the past like four years (another time he had to cancel) and he's always played on Saturdays at Ruby in recent memory and you can't really judge a DJs pulled by Saturday nights at Ruby since those nights are so full of casual clubbers who just go not really knowing who the headliner is. He had no (released) productions in 2007. And most of the people who I know were really into him don't even club anymore and I never hear any of the current regular clubbers I know ever even mention him....
So a big risk...but who knows, there's lots of nights where Mezz has had some EDM act (usually a live act though) that I really know nothing about and the place is stuffed.....
JunkieXL has his own followers, but I'd say more on the older crowd side and a lot of them aren't really clubbing anymore. Sure he'll get a crowd, but prob not like he used to get. I could be wrong. I couldn't go last time he was here and I think that was Thursday night (though I know a lot of people who love to go to off main-night events and won't really touch Friday/Sat club events...usually do the underground thing then...Him being at Mezz might actually convince a lot of them to go ahead and go see him. |
