btw, gilbert or rafal or whoever....on sfedm.com, do you say if somethign is announced/confirmed and if not what the source is? Seems like some of the newbies to the scene think if it's up on sfedm.com, it's absolutely confirmed. |

theres a note section but no tbc option. not like newbies will know the difference if its just a source. thats why theres a disclaimer :) |

rizo, considering I had two people message me on facebook about Dash Berlin saying it was "CONFIRMED" because sfedm.comn posted it...people just don't understand unless you tell them! |

| we did build in some possible methods of noting whether or not events are confirmed, but still not sure how to implement it and how up-to-date it would be. i think for now the standard is that stuff only get's posted if we could point fingers at some other "official" source, like the venue, agency, promoter, artist site, artist twitter, etc. |

2tall, but artists and agencies have prematurely announced dates in the past before things are 100% set/confirmed a billion times. I would not use an artist or agency site as an official source to make it confirmed. I'd only rely on the club and/or promoter.
Example: AM Only had C Lawrence at Ruby Skye on Oct 30. CL has it on his site. Now AM Only says it's DJ Dan on Oct 30 and has removed CL from that date. CL still has the date on his site, though...but will prob be removed. Unless it's a double headliner night in the end and AM Only shouldn't have removed CL. CL and DJ Dan have headlined together before in SF, I think, so it's possible. Who knows...we prob won't know until Ruby or ME announces it.
Now the vast majority of the dates initially found on the sites will stay in tact, but experience tells me that nothing is really confirmed until it's announced. (and even in some circumstances then, that changes. But it's far less often).
Anyhow, it's your site. Do what you wish!! Just saying people think what's on there is confirmed because it's on the site. That's all, really. |

yeah, i know the agencies could be just as unreliable... but that's why i said, it at least gives me someone to point the finger at. not much i could do beyond that without re-checking all the sources every day for every event.
even the digweed posting here, i would not post the date without seeing it elsewhere online... just looking at his site, it's not there, although would make sense since he is playing MM. so i'd check a couple other places first.
hopefully some local promoters and venues will take note of this site some more and will notify me if something is off. |

Ottaviani - made me happy!
Just wish he was during the oct 2nd weekend so if something does happen he could have two gigs. Would have been sick having him with a double headliner night but still happy. |
