supperclub... but thats better than nothing at all :)

i wrote michael anthony a huge diatribe about ewan's last appearance at supperclub. if i don't see any indication that it's being promoted better as the week approaches, i'm just going to la to see him at the standard and ida the night before. underground party and rooftop party--that's about where i wanna be when in la.

Blasthaus has some ing SICK acts rolling through. I'm already getting excited for Gui. The vibe at his last party here was awesome.

yup, gui's pretty dope. his first party here was pretty good too. thing is the sound was at fat city. then the club was too packed and poorly managed at paradise lounge. i think mighty will be his best stop yet. hopefully not much else going on that night. it'll be a good one f'sho.

What do you mean "poorly managed?" It was definitely packed but I didn't have any problems.

poorly managed as in the presale ticket holders were held up in a horribly slow line while the door tickets turned out to be cheaper than the presales, AND you could just walk up to pay and get in right away. then they had this stupid rule where ins and outs stopped at 2 and i had to step out around then because it was just so uncomfortably hot in that place. in general paradise lounge is not designed for a popular floor-filling dj. too many bottlenecks and narrow passages. fat city was great because it was just a large open square space. you could easily navigate out from the front, get a drink at the bar and get back to your spot. that was impossible at paradise lounge. it was so packed downstairs people would give you death stares just for trying to pass them to get to the bar. in that sense the party was oversold and that cheapened the experience for all who paid. i left that place after 2 while gui was still on and didn't even attempt to re-enter. i never even made it into the main floor area by the time he got on. i think there's a very good reason why nobody uses paradise lounge for big djs any more and it has to with how poor the experience is. it was for sure my least favorite lee burridge experience. i left early from that one too. when michael mayer stopped by there, i didn't even bother.

Eh, the crowd didn't bother me or my girl that much, but we did end up cramming ourselves next to the mirror wall for most of the time. We were able to step out for a smoke after 2 also, but there was a line to get back in at one point cause the club was at capacity.

I didn't get a presale so I didn't have any of the first problems, but I definitely would have been pissed off if I had to wait longer after paying more than door ticket buyers.

EDM at Paradise to me is completely useless because outside the heat in the place and the size (although it's a little btter now), the sound in the place is still crap, IMO. Lows are weak.

That said, Gui @ Mighty could be awesome. It just gets too hot int he place when it gets too packed.

Come down to LA for him. Drag me out with ya when you come hehe...
