This week @ KILLSWITCH: ALTER EGO NIGHT w/ Jason Kendig (Honey Soundsystem), Razvan (Black Market Techno) and Greg Bird([KONTROL])!

Halloween NEVER falls on a Friday, so get a kick start on the costumed debauchery at KILLSWITCH! Tonight, we're doing an Alter Ego night, featuring some of our favorites playing stuff they never get to play! Honey Soundsystem's Jason Kendig will be throwing down an Italo-disco set, Black Market Techno's Razvan will be shaking you up with a ghetto-tech/booty set, and [KONTROL] promoter Greg Bird will be premiering his first DJ set EVER! Throw in costumed hijinks by Bruce Lee (aka Javaight) and Chuck Norris (aka dCOY), and you're guaranteed for a happy hour of EPIC proportions!

About Jason Kendig

Jason Kendig has been rocking the bay for many years now. A former Detroit resident and current member of Honey Soundsystem, Jason was among the first to bring the minimal Detroit sound to the many dive bars, back rooms and dance floors of San Francisco. Once a resident of the Detroit club night Family, famous for its drama, scandals and debauchery, and being voted “best club night” by Urb Magazine, Jason is sure to bring the deep and dirty sounds of a seasoned veteran.

About Razvan:

Razvan was born in Bucharest, Romania but grew up halfway between Detroit and Chicago in Grand Rapids, MI. Though a fan of electronic music for years, it wasn't until returning from a party in Detroit in January of 2004, that he decided he had to spin records himself. Heavily influenced by Paxahau, the Detroit Techno scene of the mid 2000's and Berlin, Razvan became a fan of the deep, dark, minimalistic techno of such labels as M-nus, Plus 8, Ghostly, Vakant, Mobilee, Einmaleins, Foundsound, Traum Schallplaten, and Kompakt. His passion for music, track selection and ability to rock the crowd soon led to gigs all over the state of Michigan. In September 2006 though, Razvan moved to Oakland, with his girlfriend, to be near the flourishing electronic music scene of the San Francisco Bay Area. Since then, Razvan has kept busy spinning regularly all over the bay area and in October 2007, he started the “Black Market Techno” monthly with friends dcoy, IXD and Farzana. The night has been a huge success and has put Oakland back on the electronic music map by booking dj’s such as Rich Korach (Paxahau, Detroit), Todd Sines (NYC, Planet E) Christian Martin (Dirtybird) Limaçon (Poker Flat) Alland Byallo (Kontrol) Josh Dahlberg (Blank Artists, Detroit)Sassmouth (NBFC, Chicago) and others.

About Greg Bird

Greg Bird throws the best techno party in town, [KONTROL]. (DUH!) Not bothering to learn how to DJ and stay on top of music, Greg just gets the best DJs around to play for him so he can just spend his time raving on the dance floor. Tonight, Greg Bird brings out his minimal scarf loving alter ego for his first DJ set ever. Be prepared for a once in a lifetime event!
