the point is, there's loads of talent that seems to get entirely ignored by promoters in favor of people who are higher up on the DJ Mag list for no real good reason. and for having those said high-profile but not necessarily high-talented DJ's (not trying to make this into a debate about the validity of polls, but we all know that popularity and talent aren't really the same thing) come over and over doesn't make sense. And if you have the money to get PVD or Armin, you have the money to get anyone. |
Look i fully agree with you on your thoughts. I really do. Trust me if things were different (cant even begin to explain) i would book more talent that would have a superior effect/draw. We must remember draw is an important aspect of booking talent. As we well know clubbing is a business & if a DJ costs a significant amount of $ & does not draw then it hurts the business.
On that note i will look into your request.:happy2: |

| don't get me wrong, I don't expect nor would I ask a promoter to invoke their own financial ruin. And if a mainstream headliner gives you a financial bubble to take a risk and promote some real great music that might not be as popular, then I can get behind that easily. I really do appreciate that you're doing what you can, it just sucks to be out of the mainstream with your tastes sometimes. |

& i only wish people were not sooooooooooooooo jaded towards **** cause then the "underground/non mainstream" would easily exist there. The owner is ready & willing to take risks but if & when he has done that the support is just not there. As i mentioned...Only if things were different. :( |

people have to remember that for it is a business. for years we have been bringing out the less know underground/ non mainstream djs and the numbers of supporters don't add up for a space the size of 1015. |

You guys have been superb on hosting the underground/ non mainstream djs & generally speaking your right. It couldnt work on the "large scale" for 1015 but that is the beauty of the club. There are smaller rooms with different door entries. The club could easily be utilized on more weekdays appealing to "smaller" crowds/dancefloor. Its just promoters dont want to touch the spot. |
