World Cup 2010 (pg. 10)

If Brazil only beats Korea 2-1, theyre done. I know that their style of play is not to score alot, scoring late, and then conserving the ball, but come on....its North Korea for christ's sake. What are they gunna do vs. harder teams like Port and the Coast?

Not surprised by Portugal and Ivory Coast. Without Drogba at 100% Ivory fails to be a team that can always finish, and Portugal has never been a team to put away games...

Actually not surprised by much so far. Thought Holland would be a little more stronger behind the ball but as mentioned, Denmark is not a mediocre team...also thought Cameroon would have it together more, but Japan has a decent squad too....

Paraguay put up a good effort against the senior citizens as expected, Nigeria's keeper was awesome against one of the top offenses in this cup, and USA held their own with England....

AND AS MORE THAN EXPECTED, GERMANY SHOWED THE WORLD CUP HOW TO SCORE GOALS!! :D

Loved their midfield and FWD play. Defense was not tested as well as the keeper. The real test will come Friday...Serbia is no one to sleep against...

Let's see if Spain and Chile can entertain us with some more scoring tomorrow!

please, give me a break, all these teams a good teams, none of them are average teams. all the average teams were left behind in the prelims.
holland sucks btw and denmark is not a mediocre team, they have just as much history as holland. i don`t even know why i keep wasting my time with you.

:haha: Everything you just said invalidates you as knowing anything. Any team in the WC is NOT a piece of (obviously you STILL have a problem reading what I write because your responses have been overly emotional and not even on the same line with what I am saying) ;) :)

On top of that, you are essentially agreeing with what I have said all along: rankings dont mean ! I have made several examples of this in a recent post....the underdogs are doing well this time around!

I have been talking about Australia, and you make automatic assumptions of my opinion on North Korea...... based on what I think of Australia beating Qatar and Uzbekistan? Or are you saying I think NK sucks bc Australia played like against Germany? Sorry, but where are you coming from? How do the two correlate? Now you are just talking out of your ass, which makes you an ass ;)

I am not done with you, because at this point you are making yourself look silly ;) Anyone can have an opinion, and I will give you that and respect that. But if you are going to make assumptions and try to give links to bull, you just end up looking like the one who had been spending too much time listening in on "bar conversations."

I will give you one thing: I should have said "Netherlands should have done better because they are supposed to be better in comparison." NOT bc they are higher ranked, but because as a team, they should have performed to what they are capable of, and they didnt. I should not use the term mediocre so losely, as I have done here.

Overall, this World Cup is very disappointing so far, a bit dull, and very lackluster... Outside of Germany's performance, I haven't seen any interesting soccer being played, and we're 6 days in... All the bad teams are overdefending, and all the good teams can't figure out how to score... I really hope things pick up.

Fifa is getting a lot of complaints from all over the world.. If it's not over the vuvuzela by viewers, coaches, and players, it's complaints by the South Africans that their businesses aren't seeing enough revenue. Stadiums are 60% full despite 97% of tickets being sold, because people decided not to go because of crime and transportation problems.

South Africa ran their economy into the ground to build these nice stadiums, but it's the small intangible things that is making this African debut of the Cup a nightmare...

I hope things better... And by things, I mean everything: the play, the games, the viewer experience, etc...

i thought most of the stadiums were already built and in use for rugby tournaments...? except the inauguration stadium which was the only built solely for the use of the world cup.

Brazil dominated the game today. The only reason why the score wasn't higher was due to missed opportunities on their part. Brazil had control of more then 60% of the game. I'm sure they will start converting a lot more as this tournament goes on.

Go USA! :D

I think there's 4 or 5 completely brand new stadiums. Then there's another 1 or 2 that were also built for rugby but obviously NEWLY built because of the upcoming World Cup. The rest of the stadiums had so much money poured into them for renovations, it's a similar amount of money they could have built a new stadium with.

I'm an architect by day, and I'm definitely not complaining about the stadiums, they're all very nice, I love them... I've read a bunch of articles though that South Africa are pulling a Greece and that something's gunna give (money-wise) in the next couple years.. A lot of other articles say that even the people within the country are complaining (nowhere near as many jobs as promised, a lot of the poorer class aren't even allowed near the areas outside the stadium to sell merchandise, food, water, etc.)...
AY STAR
i caught the portugal vs ivory coast game
to be honest, it was a very very physical game lots of fouls
but portugal played like sissy's, they had no drive with the ball
they would just keep back and side passing and alot of the players kept playing with the ball too much
your not going to win games like that

i didnt catch the brazil game but for that division i would say its gonna probly end up being ivory coast vs brazil
