jozy is in there for his hold up play. davies runs onto the ball off him. our other strikers are lost, always have been. that's why the US started to look threatening the moment davies got recalled and paired with yozy.

And that wraps up another failure of a World Cup from the USA.
Yeah the Donovan stoppage time goal was nice, but losing to another tiny, irrelevant African country like Ghana just set soccer back in this country for another couple years. I'm sick of losing to these countries where probably 80% of the population lives in grass huts and wear nothing but loincloths...it's embarrassing when you compare the two countries and in the end they field the better soccer team. It should'nt be that way.
Also next time we need guys up front who can finish when they get the ball. So many blown chances that should have been goals. The USA had no go-to guy when the game was on the line.
I am sorry, but when have the US soccer team become a power house to say they should beat ghana.
Ghana is a country that produces really good players, and actually this team won the U-21 world cup. So they are quality. It's when you watch ESPN, or any other US sports analyst. They pretty much hype the U.S. like they are going to win the world cup. The truth is U.S. is far from being in contention. They are on the right path by having more and more player playing in Europe.
Ghana I think almost all of there players play in the top leagues, and so they are used to higher level of football.
The analyst have to realize don't expect much from the U.S., They are equal with mexico, and mexico are never in real contention, so why would the U.S. be.
Again, I expected U.S. to go out in this round, but they couldn't ask for a better draw then facing Ghana instead of Germany, but they showed they are not good enough.
Maybe in 4 more years they will have more players in europe, and they will be more experienced, and then they can probably make it further.
Also all the analsyt were talking like U.S. already won, and made it to the semis. That's what pisses me off about football in this country, because they don't know what they are talking about.

Absolutely killin' me. My god!!!
Why do the US make themselves so vulnerable off the word GO?! I mean really. Slovenia and England both scored against us first in the starting minutes of the match and then Bradley's team ending up chasing the game the rest of the 85 minutes. Oh well, lets hope the rest of this world cup doesn't disappoint.

Honestly, I don't know what the average american is smoking. US football is nothing but mediocre and it's turning into what all american sports are: overpaid players, no passion, no serious fans, etc. Beckham for the LA Galaxy? WTF is that? It's just bull.
And now the US, a team getting to the World Cup regularly in the past few tournaments after about 80-100 years of being useless turds wants to be #1 when they're not quite there yet, just like with everything they get involved with claiming to be the best, it's an ego thing and part of the US power trip culture, trying to be on top of the world.
Football is religion to the rest of the world except for here, and I am so glad that Ghana beat their asses, they played the game of their lives with their balls well put in place, all for the love of the game. The US team doesn't have the love for the game and neither do their fans. I was sitting at a bar watching the game and a douchebag sits in front of me blocking the whole screen with his fat head and all he cared about was grabbing his gf's ass, FFS. Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!
/end rant
(I know I probably don't make much sense, but I just had t0 get it out of my chest, lol)

The arguments against US football in this thread are pretty funny. Zero sense is being made but oh well, I guess most of us are just a little frustrated right now. :p

true. American was never expected to get past Ghana. People listen too much to the super-optimistic American commentators
I was expecting as much and am not dissapointed. Ghana is fast and the USA sucks at defense.
Yes, I wish we won, but despite the scores, I cant tell you how proud I am to be an American and to live the life I live <3 <3 Soccer is a dissapointment, but in everyday life, we are so lucky and I dont have the balls to complain about "america.":D :D :D :D Love my life :) :)
I dont give a if we are good at soccer as long as I can live the life I live!!!!!!!!!! :) :):) :) #usa
