OMG! Those analysts/ commentators were so annoying! Especially Alexi Lalas! USA this USA that... They talk as if USA is the best team in the world.
South Korea played a good game today but, couldn't get the win. Second goal by Suarez is priceless!
Argentina and Mexico. It'll be a good game tomorrow! |

Honestly, I don't know what the average american is smoking. US football is nothing but mediocre and it's turning into what all american sports are: overpaid players, no passion, no serious fans, etc. Beckham for the LA Galaxy? WTF is that? It's just bull.
And now the US, a team getting to the World Cup regularly in the past few tournaments after about 80-100 years of being useless turds wants to be #1 when they're not quite there yet, just like with everything they get involved with claiming to be the best, it's an ego thing and part of the US power trip culture, trying to be on top of the world.
Football is religion to the rest of the world except for here, and I am so glad that Ghana beat their asses, they played the game of their lives with their balls well put in place, all for the love of the game. The US team doesn't have the love for the game and neither do their fans. I was sitting at a bar watching the game and a douchebag sits in front of me blocking the whole screen with his fat head and all he cared about was grabbing his gf's ass, FFS. Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!
/end rant
(I know I probably don't make much sense, but I just had t0 get it out of my chest, lol) |
Claudia, please tell us how you really feel.... ;)
And was the guy's girlfriend's ass smoking? Need more details. :happy2: |

the last sentence is probably right.
US soccer players don't get paid anywhere near what european theatrical pussies get paid (could they be anymore dramatic about being tackled, holding their faces for a clean foot tackle). Our best athletes (who, unquestionably are superior to european athletes) are lured by the big dollars in baseball, football, and basketball. If our best athletes played soccer, undoubtedly, we would kick the out of the rest of the world. This shoudn't even be questioned. There is no doubt that Adrian Petersen, Kobe Bryant, and other top US athletes are faster, stonger, and more athletic than these World Cup soccer players.
In any event, your disparaging attitude is immature. There is absolutely nothing wrong with US Soccer players trying to be the best they can be. Everyone should attempt to be the best they can be. Collectively, that means that the US team should try to be number one. While that may not be convenient for you, that is how teams work; and, while your outlook may be inconvenient, it is natural for team to try to excel. Grow the up!
With all that said, Go ARGENTINA!!!! |

All I wanted from the USA was to make up for the last World Cup dismal performance and make it to the round of 16, which they did. They also won their group, I admit barely but they did. ESPN just hyped up this team too much (probably for their own ratings)and was setting up a huge disappointment for the casual US viewing public.
I always questioned Bob Bradley as coach, but he has gotten better, and seems to learn from his mistakes. The last three matches the US were outplayed in the first half in all of them, but he regrouped his players, changed tactics and had them playing far better in the 2nd half. Then again putting Ricardo Clark and Findley in your starting 11 was the biggest mistake to date.
That being said, Ricardo Clark will probably never be called back on the National team, along with Findley.
We have a young midfield with Bradley, Torres, Edu, Benny, Holden, and hopefully Freddy Adu will get some call ups. Spector might be our most talented fullback but he needs playing time. What the US needs now is to groom some defenders and forwards. It seems that all our Under-23 and Under-20 players are fwd and mid players that go overseas.
Well in 2014 I expect even more from our side. We are headed in the right direction. |

I'm kinda hoping England loses this game so the British press lashes out on FIFA for not having full instant replay.
Another goal that could have counted if they went back and looked at the video.
you to all the soccer traditionalists who don't want instant replay instated...stop living in the stone age and get with the times. |

Did you even watch the games? Two games completely BLOWN due to non-calls. The credibility of FIFA and football couldn't be any lower at this point. |

you are both right. Great teams and impressive play. However, both games were altered by the reffing. Just terrible. I hate the way the calls have made the dymanics of the games change. It doesnt matter if the calls change the actual outcome (final score)of the game, what it DOES do is change the emotion of the game for both the players AND the spectators! The entire GAME is thrown off and is completely unfair. Today was a disgrace!:whip: |
