I think Spain will take. Other picks in close are Brazil and Germany. France, Italy, and Netherlands have NO chance. England has a mixed chance - really comes down to how they want to play - what style... and Rooney. |

Ummmm... I could swear that it's 1 man and not 2. I'm pretty that's what it was in HS and that's what it is period.
Liiiike... the last defender back (not the goalie) sets the offsides line. It's not the second to last defender(second to last field player). I'm going to go ahead and say i'm 95% confident on that.
And I know this is probably retarded logic but it just adds to my point... if you go and play Fifa on PS2, 3 or xbox, a guy is offsides when he is beyond the last defender back when the ball is played. not the second to last.
the offsides rule is basically to prevent cherry picking more or less. It cant be cherry picking if there's still 1 guy between u and the goal.
so based on those arguments, I disagree with the both of you :)
OR... when you say 2 players do you mean there has to be the goalie and a field player between you and the goal. In which case correct. BUT... I'm pretty sure that on the goal in question There was a defender and the goalie b/w the Spanish player and the goal when the ball was played. |

| yea. the rule is there has to be TWO players (goalie included) between the attacker and goal... pretend the keeper and the guy on the line switched roles (which is what they did. defender becomes the goalie, goalie becomes defender) wouldn't you think he is offside? |

i see a lot of you rooting for argentina. i like! we need the positive vibes right now!! the chemistry on the team is rather weak, but i'm sure tomorrow will be an amazing day for argentina.
that said, i have to say i'm a little disappointed players like cambiasso and maxi rodriguez are not playing. these are GREAT players that should've been on the team. i also wanted riquelme to be on the team but he's a little too slow for me and sort of lazy, but always makes up with those great plays and set up he makes.
in any case, argentina is NOT an obvious pick, if anything is the underdog. no one here is rooting for argentina as they have a weak team. they almost didn't make it!!!

Like I said, Maradona should of called truce with Riquelme and call him up. Yeah, he might be slower now but, that guy can create for the team! And yes, it is disappointing to not see Maxi Rodriguez and Cambiasso on the team in S. Africa right now! |
