I would pick dempsey to shine more than I will pick altidore. I seen both play a lot in the epl, and altidore, is just not good enough. He is young, but he hasn't shown anything yet to tell me he is going to explode anytime soon. He does have maybe one or two good moments, but that's it. The rest of the game he doesn't do anyting. Dempsey is the type of person who is usually in the right place at the right time. Kind of like the way mcbride was. I still think the U.S. got a long way to go to compete with some of the powerhouses. I do believe this is the best squad they have ever had, but don't see them upsetting most likely germany in the next round.

The US can suprise if they certain things happen:

1. Bornstein does not see a minute on the pitch.

2. The players tune out what Bradley tells them.

3. Gooch and DeMerrit need to be solid like they were in the Confederations Cup.

My starting 11

Howard

Bocanegra - Gooch- DeMerrit - Cherundolo

Dempsey - Torres - Bradley - Donovan

Buddle - Altidore

Subs - Holden, Edu, Spector, Gomez

Thansk for this thread, and the info about some of those bars! That wheretowatchtheWC link is sweet!

Unfortunately' I'll be sitting in a ing classroom on weekdays studying for the bar, but I'll do my best to check some of those public viewing sports on the weekends. I was thinking of going to Nevada Smith's for the USA - England match but I figure it's gonna be ridiculously overcrowded. Any tips on when to go there to get a nice spot or whether reservations make sense?

mexico got robbed? lolol that was offside bro and i got it confirmed by couple other ppl.

there has to be 2 players between you and the goal

you cant be offside when the corner is taken because the ball is considered on the goal line...but when the header is flicked on..he was behind the keeper and there was only 1 player between him and goal....hence he was offside.
