I used to be a striker, so I know what you're talking about, I just disagree with a lot of your points. We used to have to tuck our shirts into our shorts, so I know all about pulling your own one out to make it look like you've been grabbed in order to grab a ref's attention. I've definitely done my fair share of bitching to gain attention in the future. At the same time, as a forward, you're pretty much always going to benefit from increased scrutiny. You're the one being blocked out. It's why you don't see defensemen taking dives as often.

yes, so that's my point kinda. a striker for example negotiates his way into a foul in order to provoke the other team into making mistakes that can cost them a goal.

Which is what I was saying about explaining yourself into a deeper hole. It's not that I think you have no clue about what you're talking about, it's that you convey it really poorly. Is English your first language (I know that sounds condescending....but it's a real question, and if not, I kind of grasp what you're saying more).
No one "negotiates" their way into a foul. You don't get fouls to get attention. Fouls hurt you and there are much better ways of getting the ref's attention
Second, if you constantly act like a bitch to the ref, you're going to get scrutiny. I used to see the same refs game after game. You try to fake penalties in front of the same person week after week - you're ed when a real penalty occurs.
