wtf is with everyone being a and diving its almost ruining the game. |
Everyone in American already makes fun of soccer as a sissy sport, when in reality, it's one of the most physically demanding, relentlessly grueling sports out there... It's hard for us to argue with them, when our most famous players draw the weakest fouls and most dramatic reactions...
No other sport's elite superstars act on their respective field's of play the way soccer's elite do... It's really a shame, and slowly ruins some of the beauty of the game.. |

well with other physical sports like football and hockey your wearing lots of padding and protection, so these guys figure they can probly get away with it and try and milk a foul
in basketball sometimes you see a player do the same thing, but soccer is much worse by far its embarrasing |

I dunno...Sid Crosby is the biggest in the league and Federov was also known for being a huge drama queen on the ice back in the mid/late 90s
and Tom Brady is another bitch |

LOL TRUE STORY!!!!
This past week I was trying to convince my father to watch soccer, who is a huge physical-sport fan and a manly-man: (football, UFC, hcokey, etc..)
Me; Dad, just watch ONE game!
Dad: Fine I will watch one game, see what all the fuss is about
Voicemail fom dad the next day: "WTF is this p*ssy . Thanks for wasting 2 hours of my time. A buncha boys kicking the ball back and forth with no scoring. WOW. And if you even look at a guy, he falls down like a wimp on the ground and cries for 5 minutes....this is what everyone is going on about?!"
LMAO. ok dad. you win. :stongue: :nervous: :wtf: |

so Chile will probably win now....that puts them through pretty much. If Spain wins their next two, and switzerland beats Honduras, they all would have 6 points, and it comes down to goal differential
fuu..... Honduras in real trouble this afternoon |

if switzerland beats honduras by 2 or more goals, chile is in trouble. assuming chile will probably not score a single goal against spain, seeing as a bunch of their valuable players have yellow cards and souza is hurting. oh and mati fernandez is out the next game vs spain. if anything, chile is on the edge of being royally screwed! but u gotta hope for the best...! :D |

i don't bother arguing with people about the game itself.
they don't get it, they don't get it. punto.
just like i don't need to or try to convince a fag that he is missing out on . he just doesn't get it.
the american consumer is not the be all end all of entertainment.
i love it because i do. so feck off americans, I don't need your approval.
now back to the game.

Soccer is a tough sport...but you really can't say that if you're a fan of Spain/Italy/Portugal or any South American team.
They dive like it's no tomorrow. And no other non-American fan can deny that. |

i agree. any team with superstars (which is to say most) are full of pussies!!
look at honduras and how they played today, if these guys would've played like they normally would, spain's torres and villa would be in the hospital right now. most of these guys came from the inner cities..another example is tevez, he was raised in fuerte apache, which is like harlem in the 80s or worse..look closely and you will see a huge scar on his face, he got it over a fight during a game and someone stabbed him... |

If anyone is interested, a group of us are meeting up at Nevada Smiths @ 11am for the Holland game on Thursday....3 hours early to possibly get a space, and of course, to drink more beer!!! Wear your Orange to represent!!!!
Plan B, (in case it is crazy at Nevada's), is McCormack's Pub, about 8 blocks away. They are favoring the Dutch at this bar, just as an FYI :)
Stop buy if you have a day off, want to take a long lunch, or are unemployed and need something to do with yourself! :stongue: |
