| Incredible end to the UTenn/LSU game. Tenessee will certainly move up a bit, and LSU will fall. If Tenessee plays poorly next week, theres a chance Ohio State could jump ahead of LSU while holding off Tenessee. Im still holding out hope to see the Bucks in the Rose Bowl this year. |

| o yeah I noticed some thing in particular in the LSU game, how much bad can happen to a player all in one play, TENN QB Ainge not only underarmed an INT for a TD and as he was getting sacked they drive his head into the goalpost, injuring him, and the backup who s fighting to be a starter , only drives the Vols into one of the greatest comebacks. Its pretty safe to say Ainges career is ed now lol |

Hahaha you'd be suprised. Wait till someone reveals that Casey Clausen was used to "hand off the baggage" to his brother to get him to come to Tenessee, and Clausen is suspended for two games. Ainge comes in and leads two victories. All of a sudden, you're playing the #2 team in the country, and your coach has faith in Ainge....

im guessing you are going to be a rooting for notre dame a couple weeks down the road if you still have hope for THE ohio state university. |

Of course.
As I type this, the Buckeyes are the highest ranked one loss team in the nation. You could certainly make the argument that they lost the game against the Longhorns, that the Longhorns didn't win it. Meanwhile, the Vols were thoroughly picked apart by the Gators and were outplayed by LSU for 3/5th of the game. Speaking strictly on tradidition, LSU should drop below the Buckeyes, and if Tennessee isnt impeccable next week against Ole Miss, theyll like be behind the Buckeyes as well. Le't not forghet how stacked the SEC is this year with LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Alabama, creating a most difficult road for any team that hopes to run the table.
Because of this, Id submit that no team in the SEC will finish without a loss this year. Well timed losses by Florida and Georgia could pave part of the way for the Buckeyes. The next big test would be the ACC where Florida State and Virginia Tech sit ahead of the Bucks. I think Florida State loses two games this year, with big games against Virginia, Syracuse, Clemson and Florida left. Tech looks to be cause the bigger bump in the road for the Bucks, with West Virginia, BC, Virginia and Miami (The U) on the schedule. Let's also not forget that the Buckeyes have the advantage of not having to play a conference title game while these two teams do.
That leaves two teams: Texas, which has beaten Ohio State and USC. It's hard to predict that either of these teams will lose, even with Texas facing off against Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and the huge rivalry game against Oklahoma. They will also have to win a conference title game. Meanwhile USC has to beat Arizona State, Cal, Notre Dame, and UCLA. To see them drop one or more of these games would not shock me, particularly the end of the year rivalry game aginst a UCLA team that has looked good so far this year.
In the end, I don't think the Buckeyes will be in the Rose Bowl. However, if they were going to lose a game this year, I'm glad it was against such a formidable team and early in the season; it gives them a chance to play themselves back into the title talk. With games against Penn State, Minnesota, Michigan State, and Michigan added to the recent drubbing of Iowa (Iowa's negative nine rushing yards looked really good ;) )The Buckeyes could really become a legitimate contender, especially if there is only one or no undefeated teams. |

If im correct, you are a OSU fan right. So isnt this statment(s) biased. I mean Ohio State got beat by Texas theres no arguments about that.
Also Ive seen a bunch of OSU games this year and they look to me less than impressive. Against Miami(oh) they kept them in the game for about the first half. Buckeyes will lose to Michigan State I think and maybe another game.
If your gonna talk about the National Championship there is only 3 teams you can mention. Florida, Va Tech and USC, the only teams that have won their games impressive enough to deserve their ranking. Florida I belive will lose, Va Tech and USC wont. USC could beat half the NFL teams right now, their Pac 10 division is a joke, ASU, Cal and UCLA are all a illusion, the Pac 10 is very overated besides USC.
Virigina Tech - USC championship game this year unless injuries. Stop the USC bashing, stop the Notre Dame bandwagoning, Im hate Notre Dame but not a hater; they have all of Willingham's guys and Weis is a great coach. Wait til he gets his players there and then jump on it. And lets give it up to Vagina Tech they have been:eyes: I want Vick on the Jets :p |

yes, I don't deny that my statement is biased and that I am a fan. Now, let me make my argument.
Vince Young is a top 3 quarterback and his winning touchdown drive was immense. The touchdown pass was a touch pass perfectly thrown. However, let's review points the Buckeyes gave away.
1. The msised field goal. Josh Huston's miss by a couple of feet on a 50 yard try is the most forgivable error
2. The missed safety. A Longhorn returner took the ball out of the endzone and thus couldn't down it. He was nearly tackled for a safety, but escaped for a 20 yard return.
3. Ryan Hamby's dropped touchdown pass. He caught it and it popped out, then he got it again, only to have the ball jarred loose. Texas' safety made a great play, but the first was an easy catch and should have been had.
The Buckeye defense has been capitulate since and Hamby has caught big third down passes. They can make the big plays and I believe could beat Texas in a rematch. If no Rose Bowl is in sight, I'm hoping for one in the Orange Bowl. I believe Vince Young will leave for the NFL this year regardless of Texas' national champion status.
My post was simply to suggest the reasons that, if there is only one undefeated champion at the end of the year, the Buckeyes have a legitimate claim. I paved the roads to display where the other teams can stumble: Texas has, I would suggest, the easiest road to the title game. USC may be #1 now but, while I don't expect a loss, I wouldn't be shocked. Arizona State hung with LSU and will give a difficult game. Oregon shut down USC for a short time, a better defense could as well.
The Buckeyes arent offensively aggressive, but they can put up points. Coacch Tressel is an extremely conservative coach and rarely put up big points. The Michigan State game will be a good gague game for the Spartans offense, and the Buckeyes may have some trouble against Minnesota, but with no game against Wisconsin or Purdue, the Buckeyes have an easier than average road to sweep through the Big Ten. The Buckeyes' offense may not light up the scoreboard, but if their defense hasn't impressed you against Texas and Iowa, I don't know what else you can demand. |
