Besides Michigan, #8 Iowa also fell today, 23-3 against Iowa St. The Cyclones totally owned this game.
Ohio St. is about to kick off. My apartment complex is rocking right now. There are an estimated million peoplee on OSUs campus right now.
It seems Justin Zwick will be starting, play for two series, then Smith will rotate in. Certainly an interesting move by coach Tressel.
Three and out by the Buckeyes on the first drive after a good kickoff return. A dropped pass on third down cost them. Following a deep punt, Texas drove for a 42 yard field goal. Young burnt the Buckeyes on several third and longs before Yobouty knocked down a touchdown pass and Texas settled for 3.
A holding penaly and a delay of game call pushed the Buckeyes back a bit. The Buckeyes are using a short passing game to move down the field. but a strong Texas front shuts down the drive. Another punt puts Texas at their 10.
Texas uses big plays and their large front 4 to push their way down he field. Young throws a touchdown pass ti the tight end. Texas 10 OSU 0
A long return by the Buckeyes plus a roughing call puts the buckeyes in deep. Smith is in and brings the drive about 25 yards. Huston kicks a 45 yard field goal Texas 10 - OSU 3 |

Buckeyes kick a couple of field goals, after two Texas turnovers (one int, one fumble), both recovered by Buckeye Linebacker A.J. Hawk.
Texas parlays a great return, a penalty, and a long run into a field goal. 16-13 Ohio State at the half.
Buckeyes look good. As the announcers havent been shy of pointing out, bringing in Troy Smith really gives the Bucks a lift. They need to finish up in the Red Zone, Keep getting turnovers, and bring out the ocassional option; more or less keep Texas off balance.
Young is going to get his runs, but hes going to have to throw the ball to win this game, or rely on big plays. They need to hold onto the ball, and stop Troy Smith and Ohio State's quarterback draw. Id love to see them establish the run in order to open up some passing lanes and Young's ability to create. They also need to find a way to eliminate Hawk's presence. |

Vince Young throws another interception, this one by Nate Salley near Texas' 38 yard line, on the third play of Texas' opening drive. Buckeyes get a first, but stall out, wasting a third down near the Texas Red zone. Huston kicks his third of the game, a 44 yarder to make it 19-13 3:14 into the third quarter.
A remix of Scumfrog - Music Revolution was just featured on (I think) a Chevy commercial.
Texas' Young gets out of a sack and completes a long pass inside the Buckeyes five. A penalty and a sack contribute to a hold and Texas kicks another field goal.
19-16 Texas about 3/4 way through the third.
Major back and forth game, though OSU has kept the lead since sezing it at 13-10. Vince Young has just got the ball near OSU territory with 5 mintues to go; OSU 22 Texas 16.
This is an amazingly tense game if youre a fan of either side. A.J. Hawk is by far the star of the game if you ask me. If Young can continue to beat the Buckeyes in the air, the Longhorns can drive here, making this game interesting to the final bell.
Texas First and 10 at the Buckeye 39. Young stopped for no gain with a vicious hit by Donte Whitner and Buckeye linebacker Bobby Carpenter. Texas burnas a timeout to keep from losing a play to injury.
First and 10 Texas at the Buckeye 25 with 3:30 to go.
Touchdown Texas with 2:37 to go. The score is tied, an extra point would give them the lead. Huston's missed 50+ yarder could be the difference, though he could get a Mike Nugent-like chance at victory.
PAT good and Texas leads by one. This has truly been the game it was billed to be. The big question is who OSU's QB will be for the final drive.
A fumble on the return made the city take a collective breath, but the call was reversed. Zwick takes command.
Awful move it seems, Zwick fumbles and Texas recovers. The game is virtually over.
Buckeyes will get a chance with very short time. Short of a miracle, Texas wins this storied matchup.
Freshman fullback Milton somewhat hot dogs it to the end zone, and is held out. no score. Buckeyes take over at the foot line with 25 seconds to go. Texas sacks Smith for the safety, three-point lead for Texas with about :19 to go. |
