| Oregon is 7th!! I'm very proud of that. We don't have the name school but our program is one of the best. |

Hate to be a "hater," but this is still only PSU's second winning season this decade (the 2000's). Yeah, this is the here and now, but 36-34 since 2000 is hardly owning anyone's ass. |

Wow, ok I did not know this about the BCS bowl selections. Apparently, there is an order to select BCS teams for the bowls and with Texas going to the Rose Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl gets first pick because normally the Big 12 champ would go there. There's a great article on it here: http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/9055716
Still a bit confused regarding how the Big 10 won't have enough teams if Penn St. is chosen and Ohio St. is out
Updated bowl predictions:
Rose Bowl: USC (BCS No.1) Vs Texas (BCS No.2)
Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State (BCS At-large) Vs Notre Dame (BCS At-Large)
Orange Bowl: Virginia Tech (ACC Champs) Vs Penn State (Big 10 Champs)
Sugar Bowl: Georgia (SEC Champs) Vs South Florida (Big East Champs) |

| South Florida won't win the Big East. That spot is reserved for the Mountaineers.;) |

You have it backwards, if Ohio St. is in a BCS bowl then the Big Ten will not fill their bowl tie-ins with their bowl eligible teams. Each conference has a certain number of bowls they are affiliated with, in the Big Ten's case they have 7 (which includes the BCS slot reserved for the Big Ten champ, which is traditionally the Rose Bowl). They have 7 bowl eligible teams. If USC and Texas end up in the Rose Bowl, then wherever Penn St. goes will take care of that tie-in. If Ohio St. is selected as a BCS at-large, they will take up a slot in a bowl a Big Ten school normally doesn't go to, which means there will be 6 Big Ten affiliated bowls left with only 5 Big Ten schools that are bowl eligible.
Something relevant to this happened today when the Music City Bowl announced that they will take an ACC team this year instead of taking an SEC team which they normally do. This is because the SEC has 8 bowl tie-ins but only 6 bowl eligible teams. The ACC will have at least 8 bowl eligible teams after this weekend, but only 6 tie-ins. So what may happen if Ohio St. is selected as a BCS at-large, one of the Big Ten bowls might select an ACC team instead. |
