I would take Vince Young before Bush, though I do think #5 gets the Heisman. A.J. Hawk is almost certainly a top 5 pick; anything other than that is a steal for the team that gets him.

How about FSU beating up on VT 27-9, early in the fourth?

ND vs Penn St....please make it happen

if it does, it will be the highest rated college game in 10 years and Corperate America will love it

With Florida State winning the ACC title game, Joe Paterno vs. Bobby Bowden looks like a good matchup: The country's two winningest coaches head to head.

Ohio State - Notre Dame is too huge a draw to pass up. This would be only the 6th meeting between those teams. ND has the subway alumni and Ohio has 40,000 people that have transplanted to Arizona. Both treams travel extremely well, and putting them in the Fiesta means they will have to travel furthest of all bowl teams.

Marcus Vick just twisted his ankle celebrating a touchdown on a QB draw. When did coaches stop the lesson of, "act like youve been there before", though Vick's celebration wasn't that out of hand. One complaint I do have is that these announcers are rather "pro-Florida St."

Virgnia Tech's season in less than 10 words:

We can beat anyone except any team from Florida.

The one thing that irritates me is the fact that now FSU is going to play in the BCS game, representing the ACC.... which is ed up. If anything either Miami or VT should be playing in the BCS

but no, this unranked 7-4 team is in the Orange Bowl..... please.... I'd rather see Miami in the Orange Bowl than Florida State....
tribu
Yup, theres always some team that gets in on luck or because they play in a weak conference. This is why I favor dynamic divsions (where teams are randomly assigned to divisions each season) over static ones. I also think the BCS should drop the conference champion and just play the top 8 teams.

so everything falls in place for the corporate bcs people

usc bulldozes ucla.
texas kills colorado before halftime, then after halftime, picks up their dead carcases, and eats them some more ....

usc - texas. the way it was meant to be ,

I agree with Tribu, and i'm not going to go on a tirade about this. It just seems this year was in disfavor of VT. i guess i have to suck it up and complain about the lack of a playoff system....

meh i'll do it later, i'm just too disappointed to post right now.

The BCS bids are handed out today right? Are the rest of the bowl game bids handed out as well?

More or less. Anything not chosen today will be set tomorrow. Here's what I think happens:

Rose Bowl - USC vs. Texas

Orange Bowl - Florida St . vs. At Large 2(PSU)

Sugar Bowl - Georgia vs. At Large 4(WV)

Fiesta Bowl - At Large 1(ND) vs. At Large 3(OSU)

At Large 1 - Notre Dame
At Large 2 - Penn State
At Large 3 - Ohio State
At Large 4 - West Virginia

Technicalities but those aren't At-Large bids, they represent their conferences as the champs. Only 2 BCS at-large bids are handed out today and with the Fiesta Bowl choosing first, they will indeed take ND unless they are retarded. Then the Orange Bowl chooses and they will take Penn St. to face the ACC champ unless they decide to go with Ohio St. and then the Fiesta gets last pick which will be Ohio St. so you're right, the bowls set up like this:

Rose Bowl - USC (BCS.1) vs. Texas (BCS.2)
Orange Bowl - Florida St (ACC Champions) vs. Penn St. (Big 10 Champions)
Sugar Bowl - Georgia (SEC Champions) vs. West Virginia (Big East Champions)
Fiesta Bowl - Notre Dame (BCS At-large 1) vs. Ohio State (BCS At-large 2)

I can't wait for the rest of the bowls to be announced... shall be a great bowl season!
