Obviously you were just kidding, since there is still alot of football to be played. You're starting to look like a bit of an idiot :p |

actually, penn state has 1 game left against michigan state and they will not lose there's no way. the only thing that can happen at this point is penn state could move up in the rankings. noone can pass penn state if they dont lose.. miami and/or usc have a chance to lose and thats highly unlikely... penn state will most definitely finish #4 and play miami in the orange bowl and when they do, u will get a PM from me saying "told u so!" listen buddy i live college football, i study teams, i study schedules and i know what the i'm talking about!
penn state will finish #4 or better ~ fact!
penn state will play miami in the orange bowl ~ 90% chance
blow me buddy |

you have to be kidding!!! thats your argument? u can do better than that... a lot of football to be played?
usc plays ucla and a noname
texas plays easy teams that are unranked
miami plays virginia and georgia tech (unranked)
psu michigan st.
lsu plays nonames
alabama plays auburn
notre dame ~ not in the picture (#11)
now tell me, who in the hell could finish in front of psu if they dont lose?
i could see if lsu played texas and won or alabama played texas and won, but those games arent happening...
the only argument u have would be for penn state to lose to mich state and that cant happen cuz michigan blows your nutz..
dont get me started buddy! |

I think what he meant was that there's a chance for anything to happen in these last couple games, including upsets of ranked teams.
I'm still pulling for a shakeup of the top spot, USC getting knocked by Fresno St or UCLA. |

Exactly. I think it's funny that you're suggesting I'm stupid when you are "confirming" bowl games when there are a lot of games left to be played. I also think it's funny that you claim to study football in the same breath as calling a ranked team a no-name; you clearly didn't even know that USC was playing Fresno State. I've been writing sports columns for a weekly circular for a little over a year, and while I'm no expert, I know enough sports history to understand that "confirming" results three weeks before they're decided is nothing short of retarded.
I don't think the Nittany Lions will lose. They've got a decent offense, and a strong defense. However, I said it in an earlier post and I'll say it again: Looking past the Spartans and Stanton is a huge mistake. If you really are a student of the game, you'll know how prolific Stanton has played when the players around him have played well and the Spartans need a win to be bowl eligible. They can absolutely light up the scoreboard.
Now let's see:
#1 USC will probably not lose, though I've said all year that UCLA represents the best chance for the Trojans to drop a conference game
#2 Texas will probably not lose, though they'll have to beat Colorado again in the Big 12 title game.
#3 Miami has three tough games left. Georgia Tech has a passing defense that can shut down Wright if they come to play and I'm not sure the Canes can beat them on the ground. If they can get past the Jackets, they draw the Virginia Cavliers. If this game were in UVA, they might even be favored; The Cavaliers are undefeated at home this year with a margin of victory of over 21 points, though I'm sure you "knew" that. Hey, since you're a student of the game, maybe you can tell me some other teams who can boast similar stats? If Miami wins those two, as I expect they will, they have to win the ACC title game against either Florida State or Boston College. The Canes knocked off BC, but lost to the Seminoles, as I'm sure you remember since the game was nationally televised and I'm sure the results were all over Sports center.
#4 Penn State will probably not lose.
#5 LSU has patsies left (Ole Miss and Arkansas) with a combined record of 6-12. However, LSU then has to win the SEC title game against Georgia (also, possibly Florida, though the Gators are fading fast) in what amounts to a home game for the Bulldogs. The two teams haven't played this year, but with Shockley healthy, the Bulldogs have a good chance to move into a BCS game if they can keep Jamarcus from making plays (something Alabama couldn't do)
#6 Virginia Tech is praying Miami loses
#7 Ohio State is praying Penn State loses
#8 Alabama is praying LSU loses before the title game
Ok, additional evidence. Since you're so knowledgeable about college football, maybe you can tell me how many times the Big Ten champion has played the ACC champion in BCS play. Since I doubt you know, I will help you: The Answer is Zero, Never, Zilch: There is no precedent for it. However, when the Rose Bowl is not in play and/or the Pac 10 champion plays in the title game, as this year may shape up, the Big 10 usually matches against the Big 12 or the SEC. Since Texas will likely win the Big 12, I'm guessing Penn State will probably draw LSU or Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Additionally, maybe you can tell me how many times #3 has played #4 in BCS play. Since you likely don't know, Ill tell you the answer is twice out of 7 years. It happens, but I doubt it will this year: No one wants to see Penn State/Miami.
In closing, I'll say your predictions are probably right. However, you're a ing idiot for "confirming" bowl matchups before the season is even over, and for trying to cover you ass by posting immediately after, then insulting me for calling you out. Shut up, you're an idiot. |

yeah, well i would love for one of the top 3 teams to lose, but its highly unlikely. usc has a couple half decent apponents and miami could run into trouble playing virgina in virginia because they are undefeated at home this year and just knocked off flordia when they played a few weeks back. but all else aside, penn state owns your ass and millions would love to see psu whip miami's ass in flordia!!!

Why do you want to see Penn St. play Miami so badly? That is the worst possible matchup, I think. Kyle Wright showed a lot in the Va. Tech game, but with Moss out now, I think JoePa will have some game plan for Miami and force the young QB to throw a lot. Meaning there would probably be a lot of punts.
Penn St./ND would be a classic, or Penn St./SEC Champs would be very interesting whether it is Bama or LSU or Georgia. Even Penn St. and the other At-Large whether it is Oregon or another SEC team would be good. The only other matchup that would be worse is the Lions Vs West Virginia. |

Fixed.
Incidentally, Miami - Virginia is in Miami, not in Charlottesville. That's why i said the Cavaliers might be favored if this were at home. Also, Virginia beat then #4 Florida State, not Florida, though bragging about either one isnt advisable.
Couldn't agree more Terry, though I think South Florida wins a big game and the Big East title against West Virginia in a couple of weeks. This would set up a South Florida - Miami Orange Bowl game that will be interesting to the only state that might care aaout those teams :p
Depending on who the at-large is, PSU could be set up with a good game, but i think they'll draw LSU or Georgia which should also be quality opponents. I think the two at-large teams will get each other, though I'd love for Notre Dame to be left out of the BCS picture; I just dont think they've played well enough to get in as a two-loss team. I think Ohio State and Alabama are looking like excellent at-large teams right now, depending on the outcome of final games, of course. Notre Dame is almost a BCS lock if they are eligible though :\ |
