| Yeah I was going to say, i thought West Virginia was already secured a spot in the Sugar Bowl. At least one of my teams made it to the BCS. |

Being an Oregon alum, I'm very proud that my team will be 5th in the BCS even though as things are will be playing in the measly Holiday Bowl against Oklahoma. Whatever...
Being 4th would have left my Ducks an automatic spot.
And my hatred for this whole system goes back to when they robbed my Ducks of the Championship game in 2001 when they were ranked #2 in both polls.
And look on ESPN, 43.4% of people believe that the BCS bowls should go to the top 8 ranked schools as by the AP poll. |

Technicalities but those aren't At-Large bid... |
I know, but i didn't know how else to phrase it, so I just went with "at large". Since they're all being picked from a pool of "eligible teams", maybe the BCS should just pick the other 6 teams at-large, since teams like Notre Dame will often be chosen for a bowl over conference champs. |

Yeah, but there are still those champs that have obligations to certain bowls. Pac10 and Big 10 to Rose, Big 12 to Fiesta, ACC to Orange and SEC to the Sugar... I'm not sure about Big East, I don't think they have an affiliation but it doesn't matter as their auto bid is gone next year. I wonder if the plus 1 game next yr will relieve some headaches or cause more?? My money is on more. |

I think the plus one game is going to cause some problems. Alot of people forget that Utah was undefeated after the 2004 BCS games too; what happens if you have three undefeateds again? However, I think this a good thing. A +1 game is a step towards a playoff, and if there are problems with it, the system will be in place to move in that direction.
I think most of us agree that a playoff would be an ideal system. Do you guys have any propositions for how a system could be organized. |

Penn State vs Flordia State? I was way off... All of the teams i wanted to choke kicked ass last week and losses by VT and LSU really screwed things up... !!! Penn State is WAY out of Flordia States league ~ What crap...
The BCS blows... I heard that the government is getting involved because the BCS is such BS and a borderline monopoly... did anyone else hear anything about this?
PREDICTION:
orange bowl ~ PSU 41 FSU 10

yea they probably will eventually, i saw the article too, thank god.
Tribu i still maintain to make everyone happy a playoff of 4 teams (while still using the BCS to rank)
but ah guess what the 4 bcs bowls stadiums will not be involved only 3 of em, so 4 woudnt work, theyll have a playoff of 8 teams then, woo! |

BCS fawking blows, I don't want that deciding anything. If you're a big money school, then you get privileges. It's like having Duke in the Final Four every year cuz they bring in the most money instead of having the Gonzaga's of the world having a chance. It's retarded and I'm sick of it! 4 loss FSU gets a BCS bowl over my Ducks who only lost to the undefeated defending champions.
I want an 8 team playoff with a committee to choose things (like NCAA tournament) or the polls.
A 4 team playoff doesn't have the cinderalla story that I love so much. 16 teams is too much. USC would demolish a 16th seed. |

then again, we ask ourselves the same question in basketball why lower conference champions have to face top teams like duke, kansas, illinois, nc, or kentucky each and every year . it's a waste of time, but they still play.
i agree with a 16 team playoff. i think 8 is too small. what did i say ? top 2 teams, 7 "big conference" conference winnners, and 7 at-larges .
actually, it would be different in this scenario , rather than football, because there are possibilities where a 16 could beat a 1, and a 15 beats a 2 . more exciting than the basketballs 1-16 and 2-15 matches ... |
