I would agree that being obese could be considered a disease when it starts to affect your well being however; being obese doesn't necessarily mean you have a disease. |
Then it DEFINITELY doesn't mean you have a disability. |

| anyways the point being is this, i agree with giving fat ppl 2 seats because it benefits the rest of the passengers. skinny people dont have to be crammed in and stuck beside a fat person for 9 hours. And for the genral safety of the plane if the capacity is 3 tons i dont want us going over it because theres the worlds biggest all you can eat buffet in florida and every fat person decided to get on that flight, thus making the plane over weight. now if they have two seats per fat person we'll make weight and I will be comfortable with the exception of smell and heat |

What about every company that has to install wheelchair accessibility? They have incurred costs in order to accomodate people in wheelchairs...and by law they have to accomodate these people. |
are you joking me? I'm sorry but your defenses are really silly.
What happened to comparing obesity to alcohol and drug addictions which would be more relevant.
wheel chair accessibility cannot be compared as it is not self-induced. You do not have a choice. |

I don't think being obese means you have a disability....as I previously said...IMO, being obese only becomes a disability when it substantially prevents you from doing normal activities of life. |

| lol well then heroin addicts should be allowed to shoot up on a long trips because they might start going through withdrawl due to their "disease" and disability |

| ok lets just put out on the line here, the only reason why chem and skipper are arguing this is because they knowone day they will need that extra seat too. |

The person who drove home drunk and hit a hydro pole and is now in a wheelchair for his entire life had a choice...he mad a bad one and now a business has to accomodate him. How about the person who thought it would be fun to try and run across the highway and got smacked by a truck.....he had a choice. How about the person who thought it would impress all his friends if he dove head first into 3 feet of water and is now paralyzed. |

I bet you any one of those people would be accountable for those choices though, and be like "Goddamn I am/was a ing moron." Fat people seem to use the words "disease" and "disability" as justification for their lifestyle. When do you ever hear a fat person say "I eat way too ing much and sit on my ass a whole lot"? Not as often as "Wah wah, I have a disease." Or "It's glandular!" |
