Finally got Honeycomb (3.0.1) on my Notion Ink Adam. Honeycomb is very very sweet, and a much nicer UI for a tablet.
You def need a good screen with true blacks, because the OS is so dark. Since I got the PixelQi version of my Adam, the colours are quite washed out, which leads the us to not look great.
But it is much more responsive than Android 2.2 ever was. It also fixed some of the multitouch issues.
Gmail, Contacts (GAPPS) in general are awesome in HC. The notification bar is on steroids, which I love. The widgets are better. The whole system, I'm very very impressed.
It does not feel like I'm using a blown up phone. |

I finally got 2.3.4 and my N1, sucks not Google Talk Video (because no front-facing camera).
One thing I can't wait for 11Q4 Ice Cream Sandwich is coming up and the 3rd generation Nexus should be coming out with it :) Plus there is rumours that it will have a Quad-core
Its insane how the smartphone market has taken off in such a short period of time, 3-4 years?
I like Google running my phone and my Apple laptop / computer ;) Best of both worlds :D
This is Apple/Android related, Samsung working on a 10" (2500x1600) display  Just imagine if they can make that work into a 30" display (7500x4800) That be some really great screen real estate, but no real use for BD movies. I guess in a few years time, we will have movies all shot in 9K or Ultra-HD. |

<3 my Thunderbolt. No 4G in Buffalo yet, but I was in Orlando and Tampa a few weeks ago and it was f'in lightning.
Do yourselves a favor, get a phone that can be rooted (meaning the Android geeks have hacked it and posted the procedure on androidcentral.com, or another like forum), and root it before you start installing and using apps. This means not buying a phone on the release day, approximately 1.5-2 weeks after that.
I'm sure this is knowledge of several here, but "root access" is super user capability, similar to administrator vs. guest account on a Windows machine. Some benefits of root are:
- screenshot apps
- Titanium backup - will backup up all of your apps and their data (i.e. your levels completed in Angry Birds) so they can be restored if you phone dies, or if you want to test a custom ROM (Operating System image build)
- SetCPU - native profiles in this app overclock your processor just a touch for maximum performance, but more importantly, underclock your processor when your phone is not in use to preserve the battery life.
- Wireless Tether - use your phone as a WiFi hotspot
And many more... |

Xperia Play shipment to New Zealand stolen, Vodafone launch delayed

As if Sony Ericsson hasn't already had enough headaches with the Xperia Play, here comes Vodafone New Zealand with the announcement that its launch shipment of the gamer-friendly smartphone has been... stolen! We don't know how many Xperia Plays were in those crates, but it must take a pretty sophisticated operation to snatch up all of Voda's supply for an entire country. This slight hitch in transportation follows an unexplained delay in shipments reaching the UK last month, and will compound shortages already caused by limited production capacity in Japan. Man, imagine how terrible this news might have been if the Play actually had any games worth playing.
Update: It's all fake. Vodafone recently released some "security footage" of the "theft" in action, which only served to immediately incite outrage in viewers of the clip, and a Vodafone New Zealand spokesperson admitted to The Australian that the company made up the whole thing. For shame. |

Top 10 Apps. Ready, go!
SiMi Clock & Folder Widgets (yes, this is two, but they're widgets so I'm counting 2-for-1, and I love them, and they're ing amazing) If you haven't heard of these, install them asap. For the clock, make sure you enable the weather and battery, and the launcher for each side of the clock (icons only). And take advantage of the backup feature, especially for the folders.
Others...
