swiftkey was awesome right up until it failed to do autocorrections and predictions. this is one of those annoying as hell things about android. there's no consistency.

So after hours of extensive reading, internet sleuthing, multiple random app installs and uninstalls.... finally figured out the phone calls only thing for night time.

Apparently Jellybean thought it would be a great idea to combine both notifications and ringer volumes into one handy unified control, which as of now gives developers no way of creating an app to separate them.

So, until someone figures that out, I turn off mobile data and wifi at night and then only phone calls will make noise, as well as SMS, but it's better than nothing. I've missed too many phone calls while sleeping and can't sleep at at all with it going off every few minutes with emails, alerts, etc.

why are you so worried about missing phone calls while you sleep? do you work night shifts and sleep during the day? Just curious.. :)

Different schedules, afternoons, midday, nights... so there are different times I'm sleeping.

And like I said before, it's emergencies. I have a little brother who is 25, 2 little cousins same age. Unwritten rule between me and them is that if they are ever in trouble, they call me and I help them. Big bro role I guess. Lil bro works night shift to and a dodgy car. So they don't have to rely on calling my mom, or aunt/uncles. Same with my good friends, we have each others back. I know I can call them at 5am if I'm ed, and vica versa. I can ignore calls as well, just roll over, check the display and depending on who it is I will just silence it.

And I use SMS/Email/IM so much, that I can safely say that if anyone makes an attempt to call me, it's for good reason.

I know it may seem trivial or a non issue, but it's probably my biggest gripe with moving over so far.

Not sure if this is a feature of Cyanogenmod or not, but when you go into your "Sound" settings, is there a "Quiet Hours" option? Because that's exactly what you'd need. Calls behave the same but all notifications are muted between a certain time.

Try an app called AudioGuru - http://goo.gl/xBiqd

This allows me to set "profiles" for when I'm at work (e.g., vibrate only), late at night (e.g., only ring for voice calls), or just normal.

Ciao,
Albert.

Anyone know what this means? It only shows up on some txts, not all. It's weird because it happens to the same person not certain people. ie. it's not a delivery notification for carrier to carrier. Delivery notifications are off.

And I know they received the txt, because they reply to it with context. Looked online and couldn't find anything. Anyone know what the difference is between the one in yellow and the one in red?

Sushipunk
Surely it would just be that they've seen the message and haven't replied yet?
