BlackBerry users running out of loyalty: 50 percent plan to defect to iPhone or Android
Nielsen has its own angle on the smartphone numbers game out today, and the results vaguely resemble the numbers from Canalys. Perhaps more interesting than the ever present market share tug-of-war (Nielsen pegs Google, RIM, and Apple at 27 percent, 33 percent, and 23 percent in sales to new smartphone subscribers, respectively) a note on brand loyalty turns out ugly for BlackBerry: while 89 percent of iPhone owners plan on getting another iPhone, and 71 percent of Android buyers plan to re-up, only 42 percent of BlackBerry owners plan to stick around. The defectors are pretty evenly split, with 29 percent planning to go iPhone, and 21 percent to go Android. That compares to 2 and 3 percent in the iPhone and Android camps planning a move to BlackBerry. We'll see if BlackBerry 6 can solve this little problem for RIM, but the few tweaks we've seen so far seem hardly capable of stemming the flow.

just got the froyo update on my HTC EVO. this might be the best piece of technology I've ever owned. This device screams, super responsive, and i honestly can't tell a difference between how fast the browser is compared to my laptop.

Man, I still really want the Galaxy S. I wonder how hard it would be to unlock it, if I bought it out right from Bell, for $399. Where did you get that figure anyways? I don't see it anywhere on the net.
Nevermind, it's out now - $499 no contract. There were rumours of the 1st 30 days of sale being offered at $399, then going up to $599.
going to try and root my x10 tonight, wish me luck!

Can't thre is no X10 Froyo ROM yet.
Well, sitting here with an unusable x10 right now. It was updated to a different firmware, and I cannot seem to get it recognized by the next steps in the rooting guides.

I know you got me all excited about it. Now that I have the snapdragon 1ghz processor in my hands, and played with something with the A8, i can see the difference. I really want the A8.
But the samsung has so much going for it, built in 8-16gb (plus sd card), OLED screen, amazing sound quality, android 2.2 (2.1 someplaces), MASSIVE support. It really is the have to have android device out there right now.
This sony is nice, but it does have some short comings, mostly being way behind in android versions.
