The Cyanogenmod one different than the stock JB messaging? I use that now with GlowFly... works a charm.

Tasker is pretty sweet, still wish it could split the phone and app volumes, but oh well.

Anyone have an easy way to stop or find out which apps are running in the background that don't need to be running? I thought it was when you hit the right home key and you "Swiped" all the open apps away, but it doesn't close it.

New FB Messenger, previewing the whole "heads" thing of FB HOME.

It's pretty neat, good pop up system. I was thinking maybe trying the SMS integration, but wondering if it will be easily distinguishable for SMS vs. FB messages.

I can't say for sure, but I bet they're the same. The CM one might have a few more options/features in way of customizing though.

What's everyone using as their "Daydream" app?

I was using the regular clock app, but just discovered JellyDream. Pretty good. Might even get the Pro version.

Didn't even know Flipboard could be used in Daydream mode.. but it is.

Jellydream is only for rooted right? Can't find it in PlayStore

JellyDream Lite

and I don't think it requires root.

I'm hoping for this DayDream feature to get expanded in the future. For example, between 10pm and 6am I'd like it to display the clock while docked, and during the day I'd like it to cycle through news from either Flipboard or News Republic.

Looks pretty sick, love the desktop SMS with image/file transfer, and the contact pictures come over as well1

Welp... phone died. Stopped taking a charge today, earlier it shut off on its own a few times and took like 30mins to restart by plugging it back in and trying to hold the power button for 30secs+.

Started dropping signal and not coming back. Missed calls, txts etc.

Tried charging with stock charger, USB to computer, different other micro USB chargers. Keeps saying it's charging by USB when it's AC, and vica versa. When plugged in, it stays at the current charge, just won't accept charge to increase the battery. Thinking about draining it fully, but scared I'll loose whatever charge I currently have and no phone for 3 days.

Called Google Support (very friendly, very helpful), getting a brand new device in 3-5 business days.

So, oh well. Gonna root this bitch once it comes in out of the box this time...

1) Any suggestions on which ROM to put on? Heard good things about Paranoid Android?
2) What is the best way to back up stuff? Besides the obvious of pictures and music etc... what else is perhaps hidden or hard to find that I would want to back up?

I don't want to put everything back on my new device, but don't want to loose whatever I already have if that makes sense. Things that are not backed up via Google Play or the pics synced with my Google Drive or Dropbox

either titanium backup if your device is rooted or carbon if it's not.

Music, Pics and videos should suffice. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that's hidden that should be backed up. Maybe the Llama folder, if you're using that, so all the locations are saved.

As for ROM's: been on Cyanogenmod for over a year before making a switch to JellyBAM (it's a big rom that combines CM, Paranoidandroid and 1 other rom). Used that for a bit but found it a little glitchy at times.

Now I'm running Liquidsmooth 2.3 Nightly. It has all the features of Cyanogen, but it's smaller, very smooth, and comes with LeanKernel which is much better for battery life (and fast USB charge support).

Well it totally crapped out today, let it die totally, it started taking a charge, but it looses it like there is a hole in the battery. Also, barely ever jumps onto the mobile network.

I wish MIUIv5 was Nexus4 ready :(
