Good idea, John.
Et le vola...
From now we'll keep all Android related phone discussions in here so we're not cluttering up the other general mobile phone thread.
It's abt time we created an Android thread of our own anyways, with there already being a BlackBerry and iPhone related one. ;)
Giddy up.
Long live teh ANDROID! :D |

Let's help you guys get this rollin' ...
PlayStation emulator coming to Android, courtesy of yongzh and ZodTTD

If you don't know the names yongzh and ZodTTD, you can certainly be forgiven, but they're basically the cell phone emulation dream team -- where the former has been cranking out high-quality Nintendo and Sega emulators for Android, the latter is the one who brought PSX to iPhone, iPhone 3GS and the Palm Pre. Today, we hear they're collaborating on a PSX emulator for Android that's running faster than the 3GS version -- before Froyo's even factored into the equation -- and that when his domination over the PSX is complete, ZodTTD intends to begin work on an Nintendo 64 emulator for Android, and then VLC. Without letting our enthusiasm get the better of us, let's just say it's an exciting time to be an Android owner, to say the least. |

Ya. My friend who has the Droid prefers using Google Maps Navigation on his phone more than his Tom Tom! |

Google better step up their game and release Nexus One version 2 soon :whip:
Hopefully with a better screen, battery life, video / audio quality recording (3gp sucks) and there was something else but I forgot.
Only thing thats good about Google Nexus One and other Android based phones... with 2.2 you get Flash 10.1, Google Navigation and Hotspot capabilities. |

Not the North American version (therefore no 3G) and doesn't come with a memory card. NAM is USD 700.
It's actually cheaper to buy the Telus version for CAD 600 and get a $10 unlock code. |

That's odd, I tried firing it up and got the message that it's not available in this area. Where does your friend live? |

I've got the LG Eve (Android 1.5). I wish LG would hurry up and release a new version, but something tells me they will not. I know there are ways to hack and force newer versions of Android onto the phone, but the information is scattered at best.
It is an awesome phone, and I love android so far (even if it is 1.5) but I would like some of the newer features, and improved performance. |

I got the EVE back in October and gave it to my dad in January when the Nexus One came out.
Its beyond stupid how slow it takes for certain manufactures to push out updates. Plus if the manufacture pushes an update... Rogers doesn't even have to use it. |
