I am not sure if they updated the lock or it was capable of doing that from the start. |

So guys, I'm thinking about jumping into the Android market...
I am on a family plan and up for a early upgrade portion of contract, I was going to go Lumia 920 but was concerned about the app selection.
Also considered going Note 2 or S3, but that would still be an upgrade.
After careful thought, i've come to the conclusion that I'm going to get the Nexus 4 and get it outright. This way, if I don't like Android, I can then go upgrade and get my Lumia (Or whatever is out at that time) and also I can wait out the Windows 8 launch and see what they will offer in way of apps.
So, going Nexus 4, upset about the LTE, but I'll live.
Now, when will they be back in stock? Is Google Play the only place to get it? Should I go 8GB or 16GB considering it's only a $50 difference, or go 8GB and just use memory cards?
Also, I'm going to have to change my plan I assume, right now I have 1GB shared between 3 BlackBerrys, which is more than enough since there is minimal data use by one device, average by the other and most of it is used by myself. But BB has compression so we've never gone over a GB. I assume with me being the main data hog in the family, I would have to boost our monthly allowance. Anyone know how easy that is considering I still need to keep the BlackBerry services (BIS) on the account for my brother and mother's devices?
What or where should I start reading about getting into the Android market?
Also, random... I need a cheap Android tablet for my lil cousin's for their Xmas gift. The OS doesn't need to be top of the line or most up to date, but functional for their use (8 years old and 7 years old). Also something that is reasonably durable. |

You're going to give up the Blackberry? BB10 release date is January 30, it's so close! |

Well I don't work with/for them anymore. And pretty any other job I have I would have a BB from work.
Also, the main feature that was holding me close to BB was the tangible keyboard, and if everything is going to go all touch, what's the point?
I'm just in need of a change, for work, they're awesome. I just need something more fun for myself. All my friends are dropping from BBM, which is making my exclusivity with BB less needed.
I'll always have a work BB, and still rock my PlayBook.
And, to be quite honest, my 9900 and OS has so many problems, it's getting frustrating. I'm tired of not having apps which everyone else has.
And as I said, i'm really just giving this a shot, I could still go to BB10 and upgrade come Jan 30th... |

The Nexus 4 should be in stock in the next few weeks, that is what Google is saying. If you want a cost-effective tablet, go with the Nexus 7 - 16GB it is like $200 or something, I am just not sure if it is sold out. |
