The Kaz Matsui era is over. He was just traded to the Rockies for Eli Marrero. :(

I'm sad to see Kaz go.

Me too he had alot of potential..

His defense got better, but he just wasn't able to hit.
Not as a starter (especially with the way Valentin was hitting - who knows how long that's going to last ) and not as a pinch-hitter.
I wonder what kind of contract he'll get next year, if he gets one at all.

Meanwhile, Beltran is playing more worth his money this year.
Already passed his home run total from last year.
In last night's game, he tied for the team lead in HR's twice, but too bad for him, Delgado also hit 2 HR's in that same game to stay in the lead. Maybe that competition was what C-Del needed to get his bat going again.

With Pujols out... as of right now, Carlos Beltran is the NL MVP.

He's hitting .294/.407/.631 and is on pace for 128 runs, 52 Home Runs, 134 RBI, and 30 SB. I'm so happy he's doing well.

A strong case could be made for Soriano except the Nationals are 9 games back of the Mets.

.303 avg, 48 runs, 23 HR's, 46 RBI's, 14 steals, .986 OPS

See... the Royals have ty minors though. With the trade of Beltran, the best player to get traded mid-season in a while), they got ty prospects.

As for Manny... nothing's up. He's still the same old Manny. End of the year: .290/40/120

Beltran's on the best team in the NL. Soriano is not.
