As a Yankee fan, I'm always happy they won. Just shocked Gay Fraud pulled it out. He made me shut up today, let's see if he can build on this and make me shut up more. I'm still not buying.
But A Rod with the walkoff HR, is that a sign the apocalypse is upon us?
I liked his bat flip and gesture to the dugout/crowd after hitting the bomb. |

| And this is why I hate the word "clutch." What about his at-bat before the homerun? He was up, with the game tied, and didn't get a hit. So... if the game went to 20 innings, yet Alex Rodriguez finally got the game winning hit in the bottom of the 20th, that would be a clutch hit? Bleh... I hate that term so much. |

| Even though Sox fans love Pedro, they're probably glad they don't still have him, based on what they see |

| Pedro's still one of the top 10 pitchers in baseball and better than anyone that the Sox currently have. |

he did have over a 6.00 era in june and he usually breaks down at some pt in the latter part of the year. Beckett has more talent at this pt., better very close he sure made the mets look like crap last night. |

| Can we surmise that the American League is much better than the NL? I can. The world series champion will come from the AL and my comment has nothing to do with the Yanks because the Yanks aren't going. The AL owns the NL. |

And he had a 2.14 ERA in May. And a 2.94 ERA in April. What's the point? He had a bad month. Ever since he slipped and fell and bruised his hip, he's been a little off.
And he breaks down? Last year in September: 2.25 ERA. Yeah, in '04 he had a bad end to the season with a 4.95 ERA in September. But in '03? 0.82. Yeah... he breaks down. The only pitchers that I'd rather have at this point are all much younger (Santana, Liriano, Hernandez, Harden...). Of any over 30 pitcher, I'd take Pedro over anyone. |

Santana yes, Liriano yes, Hernandez yes but Harden? No way man, I'd rather have Pedro. Harden is Mark Prior's twin. Wayyyy to injury prone. Great talent but I just think he's gonna have injury probs just like Prior. There might be one season he puts it together and wins 20 but still too much risk for me. Not that Pedro isn't sort of an injury risk but still. Pedro is a great, great pitcher. One of the top 1-3 pitchers in the past 10 years, maybe the best (Randy has turned for the worse and Clemens.. meh). Johan hasn't had enough years in in comparison. |

| its amazing how much of a difference there is this year, the Cards with there long losing streak phillies(would be 6.5 back in any division in baseball) with a 7 game nl just sucks this year. I think minnesota would give the mets a run in nl, Al no playoffs.. Al central top 3(detroit/w.sox/minn.) are all 9-1 in past 10 mostly agasinst the NL central. |

If the Mets are hot in the playoffs, they could beat anyone. |
