If their pitching stays the way it is... then yeah, in October. Look how many runs they've given up. It's crazy low.

Crazy statistical note of the day: Tigers have given up 447 runs, which is 50 less than any other team. The team that has given up the second fewest runs? The Colorado Rockies. :clown:

Did anyone else go to any of the Padres/Piazza games at Shea?
I went to the one on Wed, where Piazza hit 2 homers off Pedro
I had never seen so much applause for an opposing player scoring against the home team.
His shots sure looked vintage. He gave quite a scare when he almost hit a 3rd (for the go-ahead run) in the 8th inning.

interesting tidbit on

The Mets have had few players who so captivated fans. Tuesday night's game drew a season-best 5.7 regional television rating. Not only did it outdraw the Yankees-White Sox game that night, but it reportedly was the highest-rated Mets broadcast since the first game played in New York in the aftermath of 9/11.

how quickly things can change
Sox are suddenly back to 1 game behind the Yanks

Reyes with a 3-dinger night!
But once again, like when he hit for the cycle, the Mets pitching makes it go to waste, and lose the game :whip:
