Hahahah! :) Well, look at it this way. Ann Coulter came to Canada recently. Her views are obviously extreme, even some Conservatives shiver when they hear her name. But what University of Ottawa did was truly despicable, they literally forced her to cancel the appearance, only to the utter dismay of a small pocket of couple hundred of her supporters, driven away by a thousand-strong mob of haters. It was a bad image for Canada, for us. Who cares about the dumb she says - we know she's crazy, and by trying to stop her we are only helping her cause!
Free speech is free speech. When people start saying 'cant say this' or 'cant say that', thats when politicians take advantage and pass dumb laws, setting a dangerous precedent. In several European countries it is AGAINST THE LAW to deny Holocaust or the Armenian Genocide! You can go to jail for it! Free speech is being limited on mass scale already in a bunch of European countries to prevent the so-called "insult to religion" and "threat to public order". You cant criticize Islam without getting stabbed and threatened by a bunch of people. Its absurd.

What the hell are you babbling on about? I don’t even know where to start with this idiotic post.
Freedom of speech is not something that is now being "limited on mass scale," it has always, by definition, been limited. You are confusing article nineteen of the UDHR with article eighteen. Freedom of expression is NOT the same as freedom of thought. Whereas freedom of expression is subject to the laws of particular states, freedom of thought, is an absolute and independent right.
That said, there is nothing "despicable" about the decision by the University of Ottawa to cancel on the bitch. Coulter does nothing but spread hate speech--and in case you’re unaware, we have this little thing in Canada called the Criminal Code; under which it dictates that it is against the law to spread hate propaganda.
And I’m not even going to bother commenting on your stupid Islam comment.
Stay in school, kid. |

You're right, we all got carried away. Let's wait for updates in the original subject, I'm really curious for all the details of the black box analysis and the air traffic controllers communications.

I edited out my Jewish comment because everything is taken out of context on this board especially at a circle-jerking party that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
This was my explanation of my Jewish comment but which seemed to have been missed by the love-fest.
| quote: | I didnt mean it as offensive. Poland welcomed the Jews and defended them against everyone. I said it as saying the answer was the Poland was a nice and welcome place for them to stay and live and prosper. The aristocrats needed the Jewish people to come into the country and handle the economic trade and they did it very well.
And this thread has nothing to do with Jews for sure. I am so sorry for bringing it up. The only reason I said something because I was just reading a lot about the history. Many other nationalist people
I love Jewish people! I didn't mean to offend. :) |
