You DARE ME? Oh no!...okay. But first tell me what "plagiarigm" is--I've never heard of this word.

OH OKAY! So let me get this straight, I "type any sentence in Google" and it will give me "results?"

Powerful stuff. Noted.

cookie I thought you're smarter then that - since when taking single words out of the context will ever make any sense?

Oh, okay. Context? Let's have a closer look.

Please explain to me 'within the context' how jealousy weakens the veracity of my argument.

I'm not picking on any words here. As far as I know, "plagiarigm" is not a word. Even when you read it 'within the context.'

This is my favorite.

Putting aside his description of how a search engine works, tell me the CONTEXTUAL relevance of his point that I "cant even begin to understand and grasp the concept behind...use of words."

What the does that even mean? Are we discussing meta-linguistics now?

Lastly, tell me how this is taken out of context: I NEVER USED AN ANALOGY.

There is your context.

it is true. i don't understand. and i consider myself pretty insightful even if i am stubborn.

some people use no references and information to debate, he uses an overload of references and quotes to bombard the others into being stunned and not respond. it's like information overload. i didn't need a russian history lesson in a thread about a plane accident. but i got one, but not really because i didn't understand 10% of it.

what evil_cookie has pointed out are random points out of context but even in context it reads exactly the same way. makes no sense.

I still intend to respond to your "America is the problem" post, however before I do I have a few comments relating to "style" and "form":

1) Do you understand what it means to be concise? Do you realize how much more effective you can be if you learned brevity? More words do not equal better communication.

2) Learn your audience. Your posts assume the reader knows NOTHING at all, which clearly isn’t the case based on the dialog and exchange of ideas going on. It is painful to read through the minutia of detail you provide at every opportunity (see #1).

3) Repeated self-flattery (“puffing”) does not improve the impact of your statements/arguments nor does it provide context to your position or make what your say more “valid”. (hello social acuity!)

4) Incongruence. Your conjecture attempts to frame you as unbiased, but you then take defined (and biased) positions. A relativistic approach is full of holes. (what a way to confuse!)

I could go on with additional feedback (but will resist). Honestly, wading through your posts is terrible.

I will reply to the "substance" of your original post later in the day.

It's quite neat and clever, but I wasn't laughing. :p

I guess it was only a matter of time before people turned this into humour.

It's actually funny, and at the same time quite depressing, how eager some people are to take a position without giving it much independent consideration. I'm genuinely not trying to be offensive here, but really, don't just jump on a wagon; situate your argument in a way that allows you to simultaneously assess the merits of your own position as well those in opposition to you. To this end, be a little more open-minded; at least entertain the idea that your views could be mistaken, or at best, might just need a little revision.

That said, the possibility of revising your position, as you become made aware of new information, cannot be done by treating this exercise solely on argumentative grounds. Rather, only by regarding this exercise as discourse, are you able to step back and see the bigger picture. In short, focus on explicating your claims and let the explication do the defending for you. But don’t argue on the basis of praise or band-wagoning--a reasonable and thoroughly explicated position argues and defends itself--praise has nothing to do with it.

So next time, FunkyCrew, try to actually read and understand what some guy has said before running quickly to text another one of your band-wagoners that 'omg come check out the post by this guy.' Because chances are, just like you and geroin were unable to defend your original positions, likewise by just repeating what you two have said, neither can he.

Yes, I refrained from that one especially.

There are protests and fights about the funeral now.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/14/w...and.html?src=me

basically they want to bury him in krakow but people are protesting because they don't agree he should be a important historical figure.
