****EZoo Question
How far is the bridge from Ezoo spot? I think i'm gonna walk to and from. |
It's a closer walk if you go across the RFK bridge, than the foot brdige at 103rd st. I walked across the RFK bridge both days last year, and then caught a MTA bus back (for free). it drops you off near the 6 route on 126th or 123rd whatever street just across the bridge. it's the best route, imo if you're from manhattan.

Nothing yet---but they just sent out an email last Thursday saying they had been mailed out---and instead of FedEx, they were being mailed first class. I imagine they'll arrive this week. fingers crossed. |
you mean this:

We are writing to let you know that your ticket order for the Electric Zoo Festival 2011 has shipped. Please be on the lookout for delivery in the next week. You will notice that the package is being delivered by USPS 1st Class Mail instead of your chosen shipping method. Due to a change in the festival ticketing provider, now Front Gate Tickets, this is the only shipping method being offered. As such we are refunding your shipping charge down to $1.50, the price now offered through the Electric Zoo Festival ticketing site.
If you have not received your order by 8/29, please email [email protected] In this case, we will invalidate the original wristbands sent out and instruct you on how to receive replacement ones.
Thanks for your patience. See you at Randall's Island! |

They had free buses lined up taking people back across the bridge after the festival ended the first year. Not sure if that is the case this year as well though. |
yes, this is the best option coming from manhattan. walk across the RFK bridge, then take the free MTA bus back at night. |

So is there actually a way to catch a ferry or a bus if you DID NOT get the ferry or bus tickets but JUST the general admission?
I bought a set with a parking pass, and then some general admissions, I'm thinking I might not want to drive all three days so looking for plan B.
Second question is how good/secure is the parking? Any security on-site?
Does it get filled up? Not planning to go super early. |

Folks inquiring about the bridges:

This is what I've done the past two years:
1st time: took the 6 up Lexington to 103rd street. walked through the apartments to the 103rd st foot bridge. walked up randall's island. It's a long walk, but it's free.
2nd time: took the 6 up Lexington to 125th (or 126th, whatever it is). then walked to the RFK bridge and across. it's a much shorter route than the 103rd st footbridge.
THE MTA BUSES AT THE END OF THE FESTIVAL WILL BRING YOU BACK TO THE STOP NEAR LEX & 125.
If you walk across either bridge, and take a bus back, it's free (they don't charge you anything when you board the bus at the end of each day). |

The MTA bus can be picked up by any one. They also are running their own buses which I think have different stops farther to the west side. Not sure why anyone would buy their bus passes for more, unless I'm missing something, they seem like a scam for the uninformed. |

So all i would need is just a regular metro card or you can pay on the spot? |

This was mentioned before but, it's a metro card with cash value. Though they are only having passengers swipe on the trips departing from Manahattan. It's a free for all on the way back and they don't bother with the swipe. In theory if last minute you decided to change your mind you could grab the bus.
Though, I would recommend to anyone spending more than a day in NYC to grab a metro card and put a few bucks on it anyway just incase. The cards have no cost and they're paper thin and last a while soooo might as well. |

They sell them at all the subway stops, but in both of the past years, there's a ridiculous line at the 125th St. Station because everyone waits until the last minute and the bus doesn't take the unlimited passes. I'd suggest getting one long before getting up to 125th, when there aren't 100-200 people waiting in front of you. |

I just looked into it, and the buses are not free. Tickets can be bought at the bus pick-up location on East 124th St though for those who are going over that way. |

| If anybody is looking for a 3 days pass with ferry transport I'm trying to help a friend sell one. I don't know how much they cost and my friend didn't specify a price but she's looking to unload it so you could get a good deal. Just drop me a pm. |
