Were you even there last year? If David Guetta was going to be there, do you have any idea how many people would go just to hear him? Like omg isn't that the guy who makes songs for the Black Eyed Peas?!?!
My point is that Carl Cox isn't a big enough name anymore to warrant him closing the main stage. Anybody who wants to debate that is an idiot, because there's about 15-20 people that they'd have closing the main stage before CC at an event like this. I'm not saying I agree with it, just saying how it is.

thank god guetta wasnt there last year actually... i was proving the point that alot more ppl know carl cox then you obviously think. i dont want him on the main stage, i want him in his own tent cause it would make alot more sense, but its a 3 day festival and made probably won't get 3 massive headliners so who knows

When I asked my (all-non-white-hip-hop-loving) coworkers who they knew in EDM, they came up with Armin, Guetta, Tiesto, Deadmau5, Daft Punk, Ferry, Oakie, Benny, and Carl (although only one knew who Ferry was).
One of them had heard of Swedish House Mafia because they like the song "One" and another knew JP because they had once gone to a club to try X and he happened to be there (upon confirming that they never wanted to do THAT again!!!! LOLOLOLOL) :) :) :)
This conversation was right after the MTV awards and they asked me if I knew who Deadmau5 was, and why he thought he was cool, LOL! :stongue: :stongue:
Ironically no one came up with Moby or some other more-obvious one's I thought they would have known.

I think with the massive success of the past 2 years they could easily get 3 headliners for the main stage each night.
I agree, Carl Cox doesn't belong on the main stage because part of the enjoyment of watching him play is watching him enjoy it so enthusiastically. My point is that yes, he'd be great for a tent, but not his own tent. He's certainly not made to be on the main stage.
I know you probably were watching Digweed close on the 2nd day last year, but did you at least see the main stage with Armin playing? I bet there was at least 50,000 people there watching. Carl Cox doesn't have anywhere near the following that someone like Armin, Tiesto, Deadmau5, etc etc etc have, no matter how you want to argue it. You're taking your personal taste into consideration far too much. The masses don't want to see Carl Cox closing a main stage, they want to see Armin or Deadmau5 or Guetta.

I don't understand why that's so hard to understand. A lot of the energy that Carl Cox brings comes from his body language, etc. while he's performing. That kind of gets lost when you're playing for a sea of 50,000 people, a lot of which can't even see you and are packed together like sardines.
I was agreeing with you that he belongs in one of the tents, not the main stage.
If he is at Electric Zoo. I really hope he pulls this one out of his hat

the main stage is for the commercial fools- at least thats what it seems to be nowadays...
besides that, do you think that all those 50k people there all are from within the city?!!? im sure more than half of them fly in and do you really believe they fly in just bc of guetta, armin, deadmau5 or whoever? idk but in order for me to fly to another city for a festival or whatever, its the line-up that would have to do the trick..therefore, that being said, since im music-driven, i would have a knowledge of the djs playing. yea i can prob agree that cox doesnt have a huge following like guetta does, thats bc hes not making gay music to put himself out there, but nevertheless hes a huge name and i highly doubt theres not one person that doesnt know who he is.
also, id prob argue that a lot of the people in the main stage are prob there only bc they're rolling their faces off :eyespop: and thats the only stage with the huge pretty laser show. :crazy:

One of my favorite moments of last year was being in the VIP to clean myself up from Sunday School and seeing a guy in a t-shirt that said I love Techno.
He was clean as a whistle (obviously did not spend any time in the Sunday School tent) and he was jamming to Fedde Le Grand like he had never jammed before.
