Its seems there won't be a ferry from Queens this year. I'm coming from Queens also, which means i have to take the train into the city to catch the ferry. |

| Looks like there is a foot bridge from Astoria park to Wards Island. Looks like it could be max 2 miles. Can anyone confirm that? |

This is kind of a repost but I never really got an answer:
Can anyone recommend a hotel? I have a place to stay with family but some of my friends are talking about getting a room now.
Something with decent location and is fairly reasonable? I know it's super close to the event now and it's a holiday weekend but any recommendations would be awesome. I normally stay with family in NYC, so I don't know what's good or bad. |

It's going to be pretty difficult for anyone to recommend a hotel. Everything in Manhattan is going to be super expensive. You can get to Randall's Island direct from Queens or the Bronx so you might want to just see what pops up on the travel sites around there.
I don't know how I'd feel about staying in the Bronx :nervous: but you should be fine in the West part of Queens. Though as mentioned above there isn't any direct transport other than taking a short cab or walking the RFK bridge.
Another option might be the Columbia area. You can take the bus crosstown right to the island and I believe it's considered safe around there, despite being Harlem it's not as bad as they make it out to be in the movies until you get way up. Not sure if it's any cheaper though. |

I'm from Toronto, heading to the festival by myself. Female, 33. Two friends have backed out.
Anyone wanna meet up there one of the days? I'm mostly going for trance. :) |
My party-partner might not be able to make it so I'd be up for a meet up. Have the three-day pass, so I'll be there the entire weekend. 24, female, coming for Queens, NY. Definitely there for the trance artists, but ever since the first EZoo I've gotten more and more into house so I'm excited for some house artists.
Even if she ends up being able to come, we'd be up for a 'meet-and-greet' if you're still looking for company. I'll PM.
For that matter, anyone interested in a meet up let me know! |

Subway ... then walking. Not so bad going, but coming back if you danced your money's worth is a painful bitch. If you didn't buy the ferry tickets, the easiest thing might be the train + bus combo. |

| All of us from Queens should get together and rent a limo to drive us home, because there really isn't a good option to get back. |

Maybe not so random if there were other rap artists, but there aren't. Not appalled - just surprised. Rap is not EDM and I feel the booking could be a mood changer (and not just to the Trance fans). Just my opinion. |
I'm appalled at the prospect of that hip-hop culture invading an EDM scene. OF course with just one artist that isn't likely, but b/w '09 & '10 at most there was a handful of serious fights. If this was a hip-hop event people would be getting shanked left and right. :nervous: |
