The Hillside tent was long last year, but I don't remember it being THAT long. You can't even see the whole tent from that pic.

EDIT: Mike Bindra and Laura Depalma did a recent interview where they mentioned the changes for this year's festival...

The first thing people will notice this year is that the production has increased exponentially. Everything from the enlarged site, to the much bigger tents and main stage, light shows and sets are a giant leap forward from last year. With Integral Sound (which has always been our calling card), we are doing things that have never been attempted before in a festival setting. Prepare to be blown away! VIP has been significantly upgraded as well and there is a new second VIP area located in the grove with more of a chill out vibe. As always the food and drink choices are very important to us and we have really stepped it up this year.

Now I know what I'll be doing for the once-dreaded 3 hours I have to kill from about 6 to 9 Friday. Hope it doesn't all come back up during the closing sets.

Electric Zoo: New York's Electronic Music Festival is the critically acclaimed and fan-adored festival taking place September 2, 3, 4, on Randall's Island Park, headlined by electronic music superstars - Tiësto, David Guetta and Armin van Buuren, along with Afrojack, Boys Noize, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Diplo, Infected Mushroom, Moby, Plastikman, Skrillex, Tiga, and many more of the planet’s biggest electronic music stars.

In addition to providing 36 hours of beats over 3 days at Electric Zoo, we aim to also provide a plethora of good eats. With artists from all over the world, we will also have a global selection of foods, including Asian, Belgian, French, Middle Eastern, Latin American, Mexican, American, and Thai offerings. Delicious Vegetarian, Vegan and Kosher options will be available as well.

We are pleased to announce our specialty vendor for the VIP Lounge, Brooklyn's Roberta's. The venerated restaurant was recently awarded 2 stars by New York Times, calling it "one of the more extraordinary restaurants in the United States." They will be bringing their signature pizzas, succulent meatball sandwiches and healthy salads.

This year we’re proud to say that all of the Electric Zoo food vendors that offer meat and/or dairy products will only source organic, hormone free, humanely raised (cruelty free) products. No factory farmed animal products are allowed for sale at Electric Zoo. In addition, all of the food products will be served on compostable ware (including plates, cups, napkins & utensils.)

I still have a 3-day pass available. I got it at the early bird price of $160ish, so it will be the same for you. No transportation. If you want it overnighted, you will pay for that.

Yeah that tent looks like the tent the Swedish House Mafia had on Miami Beach for their big Miami Music Week party, and that tent was huge, def bigger than anything from last year. Look at the crane inside of the tent for scale.

Looks like they also pushed the main stage back a lot. You can see the pavement between where the mainstage will be and where the grass starts. Last year there was no pavement.
