He is Hawtin he always has another gig to get too, would be awesome if it was local though. |

Maybe not so random if there were other rap artists, but there aren't. Not appalled - just surprised. Rap is not EDM and I feel the booking could be a mood changer (and not just to the Trance fans). Just my opinion. |
as a matter of fact, i went to sonar this year w/o any expectations. i prob didnt even recognize about 80% of the line-up (i did feel regretful at some point but came out with an open mind). NOW, let me just say this...i was at the main stage and Trentemoller had just finished his set- pretty sick i must add- soo im wandering for a bit and then come back and the next dj or what seemed to be, a group of like 4 black dudes, Dizzee Rascal!! im here thinking, okay cool black djs..lets see what this is about..UNEXPECTEDLY, they began rapping!! WTF rap??? minutes into their performance, i really got into it! they impressed me and were really good- ended up staying for their whole show! had the crowd wild and everyone was surely enjoying themselves.
sooo...it not quite a mood changer. actually refreshing to throw a twist of tunes in a day filled with just electronic music. just hope this one turns out to be the same experience for everyone at the zoo; i just have to say though, i cant imagine it being snoop lol but who knows... |

| ^Dizzee Rascal is awesome. But from what I remember listening to his stuff (years and years ago), his style is "night-and-day" compared to Snoop. Like someone mentioned, nowadays Snoop just tends to talk over a track while other people yell into the microphone. Not exactly what I'd choose to hear at a festival, but to each their own I guess. |
