on sunday's parking meter's are free
so if you plan on driving you can park close to 125th and then just walk over the bridge

being from astoria i could just park close by and walk over... but i'm not going. :clown:

I bought early bird passes and finally received my wristbands yesterday. But since I had to tack on the ferry option after buying the tickets, I'm pretty sure I got the wrong wristbands. The paper that came with it said to have your blue wristbands on before ferry, and magenta wristbands on before arriving at festival (nothing about transportation). I have magenta. Guess I'll shoot 'em an email when I get home.

Still haven't gotten mine yet. But from the pics on Craigslist, the blue wrist band is for Ferry, the magneta is without transportation.

Same thing happened to me but they assured me the ferry passes were "in" the chip thing.

Edit: just spoke to the front gate ticket people and they said they are sending out the updated blue wristbands for people like us via 2nd day air. They started shipping those today. So I guess the pink ones we already got will be invalidated.

I'm staying at the empire hotel which is at west 63rd street. I bought the 3 day ticket with parking but now we're probably just gonna take the train from philly to new york since the hotel charges $60 / day for parking and there will probably be tons of traffic that weekend. Would it be best to just taxi to and from the venue? I don't know new york at all and I won't be near 124th street where the shuttle buses are.

The footbridge will close at dusk. It is accessible from E. 103rd St. in Manhattan onto Randall's Island Park during summer daylight hours (6am - 9pm). It takes about 20-25 minutes to walk from the Manhattan side of the footbridge to the festival entrance. Although you may want to save the energy for your 36 hours of dancing!

But you can use the RFK Bridge at E125th. I walked back to Manhattan between 11PM and 12AM each night after EZ for the past 2 years with no issues. Randalls to the E125th subway is about a 30-35 min walk in total

Ok, so taking the bus back after the festival and dropping you off at 125 street, I am staying on 80th, should I cab it back or take the subway at that time of night?

Take the subway. It will be full of many other EZoo people. Also, you will probably be really dirty and sweaty. You may be mistaken for homeless, so no one will bother you. ;)

The point of having both the MTA buses and the Electric Zoo Shuttle Buses is to alleviate congestion and crowding. We want to to ensure everybody gets home safely from the festival in a timely manner.

Hopping on a bus you didn't pay for is part of the problem. Shame on you tubularbills :whip:

:p :p Not that it matters, but I did have a metro card (used subway all the time there). So i was paying for *some* transportation haha.

I agree with mcadrenaline, the walk one way across the bridge isn't bad. plus like revrome said, there are thousands of other EZoo'ers too.

this is of course all if you're going to manhattan. I have no idea how others were getting to other places.

i'm staying near lexington and 36th. I've always taken the 6 route up to 125th and then walked across the RFK bridge. or taken the 6 route up to the 103rd st and walked across the footbridge. I personally love the subway.
