I'm sure Made screwed you lmao

@Made: i saw the email for the transportation passes. What happened to the regular MTA buses? Are they not running as usual? Can we not just pay with our metro cards (for those of us who actually live in the city and use them?)

Thanks! :) :)

So according to this, the X80 is $5.50 ROUNDTRIP on a pay-per-ride Metro card, so its only going to be $16.50 for the 3 days?

MTA Special Event Express Buses
Take the 4/5/6 or Metro-North Railroad to 125th St, then take the X80 express Bus on Lexington Ave between 126 and 125 Sts, which runs nonstop to Randall's Island. A $5.50 round-trip fare is collected going to Randall's Island. If you transfer from the subway or bus with your Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard, only $3.25 is deducted.

didnt i read somewhere that you can not use your unlimited card?

or am i losing my mind?

why wouldnt we be able to?
yankeeBaby
^^Only the 7-day express unlimited card. Express buses cost differently. :( :(

Still, according to this info, I would rather pay $16.50 on a pay-per-ride than $30 for a different bus (shuttle) that picks you up from pretty much the same corner LOL.....
AY STAR
oh snap
so all you need is a metrocard and your good to go

according to your post its 5.50 ROUNDTRIP

that would mean its not express priced (thats 2.25 each way- which is normal bus. Express bus is 5.50 EACH WAY)

so yeah if its express (and anything with an X in front usually is...) then you can you the pay per or express unlimited as you stated.....

but if its truly 5.50 roundtrip- then that means its not express and you can use a regular metro card even an ulimted one

(OR is it 5.50 RT if you buy through made, bc they are giving you a discount??? im so lost)

i fail for coming into this convo late..sorry
hellosam
ok eff this.....

its bus

x80?

and here is why im confused...we took this when i went:

Who would want to pay express bus fares when the M35 is right there at 125th Street? (or take M60 to M35 if coming from Queens)

Oh, its not *my* post I was just copy/pasting from Made. The RT this confuses me, too, so hopefully Made doesnt have bad info on their cite.

Also, the M60 doesnt actually stop in Randall's, it just goes through it. Trust me, thats the bus right in front of my apartment, and whenever I go to Astoria to visit friends, the Stop goes from 125th to Queens, just passing over Randall's. I thought I could do this the first year and got hosed. :stongue: X80 is apparently the only bus that actually stops on the island, which I have found to be true the last couple years.

Ohhh well thats good. Ok we have at least one solid answer then

do NOT take the M60! hahaha

were making our way there.

Basically...i think everyone is safe with a pay as you go metro card full of at least 25 bucks
