That directly contradicts the Bell's reasoning for throttling. They claim they throttle, because certain types of traffic are more destructive than others. Therefore they can shape your traffic. With that in hand, your solution does not work.

Based on your activities, you may pay the same, but you will not receive the same service, as what you maybe doing would be shaped or limited.

So in other words: not fair.

Hence why you have a universal price....whatever that price is....it will be universal for everyone. The ideal price would be 100-150% mark up from the actual cost per gigabyte to transfer.

Again i'm at a loss to what your argument is, I'm not arguing for or against global internet prices. All I want is a more decent rate from my current provider. I also do not want content aware billing/caping/filtering which is where we are headed currently.

And Why is that the ideal price all the sudden?

You want providers to sell to you at cost? 100% mark up is pretty standard.

I think that i'm done here, you seem to like arguing for the sake of arguing.

When did I say I wanted it at cost? And 100% markup is standard on internet connections? Really? Thanks for letting me know, i'm gonna go write that down somewhere to make sure I don't forget.

The only ways you are going to get decent prices is by flooding the market with providers or taking pricing away from the provider.

That would be a pretty sweet price actually since they estimate that the actual cost of a GB of transfer from the provider to you and whatever activity you used it for is just shy of a penny...

I'd pay 2cents, 3cents or even 5cents per GB if I need to!

$20 for a TB of transfer data? (@ ~$0.02/GB)

Most months I barely breached 300GB a month!
