(just got this from my MP)

Dear Mr. Kovic,

Let me first apologize for the delay in this response; thank you for taking the time to write my office regarding the recent CRTC decision on usage-based billing and send through those news stories. Today, I was pleased to join Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff and my colleagues in the Liberal Caucus in standing up for Canadian consumers by opposing this decision.

As the Liberal Critic for Industry, Science and Technology, Marc Garneau, said today, “We do not agree with the CRTC’s decision on usage-based billing, and we will bring the fight for an open and innovative internet environment to Parliament”.

Simply put, I and the Liberal Party believe in more internet competition, not less. The decision limits competition and choice for consumers. Places like Ontario will now face 25-gigabyte (GB) download caps, compared to the U.S. which enjoys caps of 250 GB. It will limit Canadians’ ability to use services like Netflix or watch the news streamed over the internet.

Canada needs more investment in high-speed internet and we believe more competition will increase that investment.

I thank you again for writing regarding this important issue. I assure you that I have heard you and I will continue to do everything I can to bring the fight for an open and innovative internet environment to Parliament and to you, and all Canadians. If you want to take further action, join me and my Liberal colleagues’ opposition to the usage-based billing decision be getting involved: www.liberal.ca/ubb

For further information on the Liberal proposals for internet and cell phone service, see: http://www.liberal.ca/newsroom/news...d-internet-use/

Please do not hesitate to be in touch with me about this or any other issue pertaining to the federal government.

Sincerely,

Bonnie Crombie, M.P.

Today was a pretty sweet day!

The Rally at dundas square has over 1,400 people attending! The facebook event page is doing REALLY well.

I just got interviewed this morning about the rally by humber college radio and will be on air at noon tomorrow: http://radio.humber.ca/

I also got interviewed by CBC radio with the other organizers of the rally, we went on air at 5pm and 6pm. It will be aired at those times in all other time zones in canada; http://www.cbc.ca/radio/

After that I got ANOTHER interview done by BlogTO about the Rally and will be published tomorrow!

There's definitely a LOT of momentum going with this. I hope all of you guys are spreading the news.

Its so funny, we tried contacting Chyme FM (a radio station in kitchener) about the rally and see if they could get us to run a story on it.

Once we mentioned the rally there was some fat guy shouting in the background 'NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!!!!'

Hilarious, its because its a Rogers owned radio station. None of them wanted to talk to us.

I've called that idiot multiple times over the last two years, with no response. I also asked her about ACTA and the copyright bill, without any response.

I guess this received enough attention for her/liberals to address it.

I quit my job today. Slight venting required.

Last thing I was doing was being on the phone with bell employees trying to set up a plan for a customer that had initially wanted to quit bell the day before and was pursued to stay and visit our store.

After the fourth phone call and the second hour of attempts to get this company to do what it promised the customer I flipped out/opened a new one on the semi-restarted customer service agent that raised her voice at me. This was all done in front of a group of customers who were at disbelief at first but then clapped for me when we were done lol I then finally left the store.

Feels great, i'm not apart of that system any longer, some other pawn will replace me. I at least tried to help customers when I could and made the store loose many sales frankly due to good advice, but those customers never went anywhere else for anything ;)

All in all, you BELL/ROGERS/FIDO and all your employees! Ive been through the last horror filled phone call with all you cockroaches!

Ps im not going to detail the issues of the call, just insert some sort of crazy ass customer service horror story and your set.
