dude, you are such a cro-magnon. no offense. lol.
yes, it is about making things easier. before electricity people used coal and wood to keep warm. and fire to cook food. electricity came along and made things easier. so you could spend your time thinking about other things and not worrying about heat and food.
ever hear of the war of the currents? people back then had the same outlook about electricity as you have about internet. we all could have had free electricity but edison started a campaign saying that it would destroy us. so thanks to people that can't think outside the box, we are stuck with the backwards electricity system we have now.
i don't think we should make that happen with internet too. |
Wasn't it Edison vs Tesla? |

That's all we need is for Rogers and Bell to see that ppl feel that they'll die without being connected... |
all we need from bell and rogers to realize that they can't hold the internet hostage anymore.
just wait until they develop the wireless system where we won't need their archaic cables. that is basically what they are trying to prevent and squeeze out the last possible money before that happens.
(very similar to tesla vs edison) wired vs wireless.
and tesla is THA man. |

lol. yes, because commenting on how i look really adds to the discussion.
cro-magnon refers to your intellectual advancement (only in this particular discussion btw), not the way you look, since i have no idea what you look like.
you should take cro-magnon as a compliment. at least i didn't call you Neanderthal. then maybe i would be commenting on your looks as well as your intellect. (hee hee, nerd joke) |

But they will keep charging what they do as long as ppl think it's an essential service. And why shouldn't they?
Also, when these new wireless systems come into play, who do you think will own them??
And do you think you'll get a discount when they implement these systems?? |

Lol you have the patience to field such questions I salute you.
I deal with older gentlemen (often have money) who come in to buy computers and cellphones all day at work, don't want to deal with them on my time off too lol Nice people, but its hard to relate technology sometimes. I'm a techno baby, but in all honesty it is the new breeds we gotta worry about : the internet babies (2000+) lol
Their gonna have a way different outlook on the way aught to run. Exponential generational gap decreases anyone? |

Lol you guys are making the three of us sound like we're 80...
I'm not saying that the web is bad, dangerous, unimportant, or anything else negative..
I love the Internet. I use it every day. Maybe a fifth of my waking day is spent on it. It makes my life easier for sure. Why do you think I pay these exorbinant prices month after month to use it...
All I'm saying is that as good as it is, if you shut it off, would the world stop? I don't think so...
If you shut off electricity, people would die. A lot of the world would actually stop. Albeit temporarily as I do believe we could survive for the most part with out electricity as well...
You shut off the web and it would suck. We'd have to do more work. Talk to people more. Get off our asses....
Maybe it is a little bad after all... |

It's all about communication these days man...I mean it's refreshing to get off the grid once in a while but lately it's important. |
