We're very concerned about CRTC's decision on usage-based billing and its impact on consumers. I've asked for a review of the decision.

that is very true....there is also some thoughts that homo sapien neanderthal and homo sapien sapien lived in communities together.
|
It's actually more than that, some fossil evidence directly supports that. Furthermore, estimates of genealogy states that 1-4% of people who live in Europe or central-western parts of Asia share genetic traits of neanderthals.

also, we all know that the size of the brain doesn't matter. Neanderthals didn't survive, since they couldn't adapt as well. |
This is true, one of the major knocks on neanderthals was the belief that they could not form speech the way modern humans can and that was their disadvantage. However, both used tools lived in communities and had the technology of fire. And fossil records suggest as stated above that they lived together, so it's conceivable the extinction of the species is simply a case of convergent evolution.

well, i guess we will never know what happened back then. but scientists believe that modern humans actually even mated with Neanderthals (which would mean that they live among us! ;)). the Neanderthals are believed to have died off because they couldn't figure out to climb into trees to look for food and modern humans did figure it out. but it could have been a chance thing too. who knows? |

The fact that you can't see outside your little bubble is whats idiotic. The suggestion that I can't get the information that I need (or want) without the internet is completely realistic. I think you just can't comprehend the scope of the internet. For every 2 newspapers that I generally read, there's maybe 10 websites that have the same coverage but from a different angle, and getting the story from multiple perspectives is pretty important if you want to understand the situation. There's also websites out there dedicated to subjects that you'd be hard pressed to find coverage on in newspapers, or magazines.
There's loads of other examples out there too, some mentioned in this thread. |
What you say is very true but you still don't need home internet service to get all that information....you could still go to the library and use their internet services. The reality is that people are complaining about the cost of home intern..so unless you are willing to make some sacrifice to show how serious you are about wanting lower prices then the pricing is just going to keep going up. |

i guess you missed the part that peter said he uses a different internet provider other than bell or rogers. cuz you get better service for less. (meaning picking what the consumer wants). but what bell and rogers has done now has been to take out the third parties. |

You are right...there is evidence that suggests they mated and the large brows that you still see today in many Europeans is from that. There were fairly large populations of sapiens and neanderthals that lived together in what is now Britain.
I knew there was a reason why I got a minor in anthropology |

Pay for use would be fair, if it was priced fairly, which it isn't. They're using the argument that more use somehow raises THEIR costs of upkeep, which is complete bull, and in turn they're gouging the consumer every which way they can because they believe that most consumers are morons that'll just eat up the bull they feed them, or they're too apathetic to do anything about it.
|
True. If they want UBB, then it should be that
0GB = 0$
Then 0.35$ per GB
Right now, they are implementing in a cow milking way.
Heck, in 15 years ive been using the internet....i pay more and get not much more (I had 700/70 kb/s w/ 35GB quota with the single provider in town.). Even w/ more vendors on the market...prices are not decreasing.....because there are too few vendors thanks to CRTC...So they are pretty much price-fixing.
You'd expect something as widespread as the internet would become cheaper over time and turn into a commodity. |
