It's more important AFTER in order for your body to begin to repair itself.
Although, you typically should eat a small snack/meal about 1 to 1.5 hours pre-workout, but this should be a relatively small, quickly digested snack/meal. |

| One thing: If you're looking to gain and thus mixing your whey with milk, drink it before working out because the milk slows down absorption. However, if it's just mixed with water, drink it immediately after working out. |

@orbax: just read what you wrote many pages back about how much fat% you need to have before you get good abs.. it really depends on your abs.. doesn't need to be 9 or less :) the guy i i'm working out with when doing legs, competed in the norwegian championship in body/athletic fitness (ending up 3rd) with a fat% around 12 :) (though he got massive abs)-look yourself - to the right :)
had legs yesterday - maxed his personal twice in barbell squats hehe, first a 3x220kg, then a 3x240 :) (ps - the pic is from october, since then his legs have got much bigger)
since me right knee is a bit strange these days, i didn't want to try to max yesterday.. so only deep squats 4x150kg - though, 3x180kg in hacklift squats (with knees together, so you can feel your outer quads get ripped apart, felt good ;)
two more weeks to toning/deff begins :) is teh fun |

i don't think you have a very good judge of weights hehehe :p
that first dude has got to be over 180...i promise you ;)
and the other two dudes...are probably over 170 :D
and here is why i say that...

the dude on the right is my best friend. this is a pic of him at 18 when he competed in the colorado teen natural bb comp. (sidenote he won the all around hehehe ;))
to look at this picture is very misleading, but i promise you he trimmed down from 208 lbs to be in this competition and when he competed he was 172 lbs...and although it's hard to see in this pic...he was still a big motherbicth when you stood next to him... |

| i had a buddy back in college that would inject himself with insulin to help get bigger. he said it wasnt safe but he wanted to get bigger and he ended up getting massive real quick. does anyone know the principle behind this? |

His legs are going to be tired when he gets there.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That one gets me every time!!
But seriosuly, injecting insulin is very dangerous. The idea behind it is that insulin is what 'feeds' your muscle cells with nutrients. The more insulin you have in your system, the more nutrients you are capable of providing to your muscles. It really helps during intense exercise and it also helps to prevent tissue breakdown.
The downside (deadly side) is that whatever nutrients you put into your system, insulin will load it into your cells. i.e. you constantly run the risk of having low blood-sugar and DYING. |

Just eating correct, balanced meals and training hard is the only way I know that comes close. |

you nerd :stongue: :p
but yeah ygrene pretty much covered it. you can increase insulin levels naturally by eating certain foods i think...i'll have to re-read up on it as i've forgotten, but i'm pretty sure you can... |
