i know, i'm getting hang of it though. and i'm getting better with the amt of wax i'm using. first wax job i did on my board, i was scraping for a good half hour, 45 minutes. i used too much |

With waxing, the best technique (time permitting) is actually to wax multiple times. Pro's, before a major event, will have their boards waxed (**note, they don't wax their own boards generally.. lol) up to five times. This is because bases are porous and will continue to absorb the wax.
But yeah, as kid nyce said, less is more in one waxing (as long as you cover the whole base) because your gonna scrape the excess off anyway..
Another good technique is to feel the topsheet of your board as your waxing the base.... When you feel it start to get warm be sure to move away from that area as the heat can begin to damage the core. |

you're better off leaving the edges for the shop, there are many techniques for edge tuning which i myself haven't been all that successful in mastering. I am however, offering up my waxing services for my friends boards, you just need to bring it over and buy me dinner or something =) |

also YOU MUST clean the base with base cleaner otherwise you aren't doing anything when you drop that wax on |
